Overall this school really neglected the special needs individuals. On numerous accounts a special needs individual would run away and ESCAPE the school. This individual was far larger than the people who were responsible to take care of him, they clearly had no control. The vice principal had to chase him. His caretakers did nothing. The counselors shared information I shared with them numerous times with other counselors and STUDENTS. They were very unprofessional and would tell me about other students including their learning needs, and if people liked them or not (their social status), and I would know their full name. I had a friend who turned on me and did horrible things and they did nothing about it even when I faced a death threat.

This school was a horrible the school only cares were their appearances. They made the girls wear their P.E short if there bottoms didn't fit the dress code to be publicly huminated. And didn't allow short and spaghetti straps even if it was like 90 degrees. The teachers are ok the only bab guys were the vice principal and the counselors.

The worst school in a terrible district. In my child's English class they read a total of one book. ONE BOOK all year. For a school where about one in every twenty of so kids can read near grade level, they should be reading all the dang time. They shouldn't be doing power literacy techniques or spending an hour a day learning about cornell notes. They need to be reading, and they need to be doing it every day.My child had a teacher a couple of years ago who had the kids reading a novel as a class. They read it every day, and when they finished they started reading a new one. That was great. He's not there anymore. Now my child doesn't read. And they're one of the few who kids who can read competently. That is a complete mismanagement of curriculum. And if anything could be worse than the reading/writing at the school its the discipline. There is none. Kids can do whatever they want whenever they want. There is no punishment for bad behavior. My child was telling me that kids in their class got detention but didn't go, because the school can't make them. And apparently kids like going to the problem room or whatever they call it because they get to do whatever they want in there without having to do work. This school is a joke. And I highly recommend going anywhere else if you are able to. My child has been pulled from there because of it's issues.

I would absolutely not EVER subject a child of mine to this school environment of atrociously behaved students and administrators who do NOTHING to make the situation any better.

Horrible school they have a high turn over for the principal and it is easy to see why. My son has a learning disability which qualifies him for resources. The resource staff seems to care but the rest do not. He has been physically and mentally bullied and the principal Mr. Ngo does not seem to care or take it seriously. I have had to keep my son out of school because he was having panic attacks and truly terrified he was going to be hurt. Students told him to kill himself, hurled racial slurs and physically assaulted him and the staff did nothing because they couldn't confirm on video that something happened even though I have medical documentation from his doctor of the physical injuries. There is extremely limited supervision at nutrition and lunch. The student to teacher ratio may look great on paper but it means nothing if they kids are not being watched. I am relieved the school year is almost over and can guarantee we will not be at this school another year.

At first I was concerned about my children attending Del Dios - but whoa...what a great school. My kids are thriving with the help of the teachers and the support of the admin team. The school is clean and welcoming and the staff is extremely motivated which can only translate to an amazing school for my children. Thank you Ms. Atkins and Staff!

Del Dios has made an incredible turnaround due to Exemplary leadership displayed by Mrs. Adkins and by the excitement displayed by the teachers to her leadership. The students are respectful to adults. The kids are excited to learn, which makes the whole environment electric. Way to go Del Dios!

My son came from a different junior high in Escondido to Del Dios junior high and I have been so impressed with. Del. Dios. The principal Mrs. Adkins is doing a great job she has a lot of great teachers working with her.

The new principal, Mrs. Adkins, is ready to change the life of Del Dios Middle School! But if you have a student who doesn't critical things very well, then go to a different school!
