If you're looking for diversity, this is not the school, not the city, not the place for you. Ask any of the surrounding cities and they will tell you that this town is well known for not being as accepting for other races. While I will say that I grew up there and over time, it has gotten slightly better. It still is not embracing other cultures and allowing your child to become well rounded individuals who want to promote diversity and inclusion.

Unicoi County High School isn't the best choice for your child's education. Unless you want to have athletics over intelligence, then I don't recommend sending your child here. Some teachers are very caring and would give anything for the student to succeed while most only come for the paycheck and/or a coaching position open. There is little to no advanced, challenging classes. The arts department suffers yearly while the sports teams get improved uniforms or facilities. The counselors only want to send transcripts to local colleges and don't want to be helpful or beneficial. If you want to live in this area, pay the tuition for an out of county public school.
