My daughters love going to this school! The principal is actively involved in the school and makes a point to know all the students. He greets all the children in the morning outside the school and you commonly see him at school events along with the teachers. There is a very strong PTA, which plans lots of fun events and activities for the students and families throughout the year. The school does a lot of programs that help the children be excited about learning. We came from another district that did not put in the same effort, as a result my daughters were not excited about going to school. It sure makes a difference when there is a friendly, supportive, and encouraging environment for the students. Thank you Southwood, keep up the great work!

Southwood has been so welcoming over the years. We came into the community when our daughter was in third grade. We aren't your typical Enumclaw family so the move was a bit intimidating. That small town feel like your kid is important is genuinely engrained in the culture at Southwood. Majority of the teachers and staff live in the community and dropping my daughter off every morning to the principle greeting the students by name is as real as it gets. The feeling of security and respect that my child felt during her years here were priceless. The school implements two learning options from 1st-5th grade STEM and Magic Strings. There are lessons of character, diversity, and leadership intertwined into the culture of Southwood, its refreshing to see. They aren't only focused on academics, but focus on the development of character and encourage their students to have confidence in their own self worth.

Southwood is an excellent school with outstanding teachers, leadership and activities for the students. I had 2 boys that attended there K-5 and are now attending EMS and EHS. The Magic Strings program is incredible. Both more boys developed a love of music and are still playing the violin in orchestra at their current schools. The running club for them was a lot of fun and the Wall Ball Tournaments..... well lets say they still talk about it. The teachers and staff make it a point to know all the students by name. And the custodial and kitchen staff there are top notch. Thank you to Southwood for setting my children up for success with a solid beginning to learning.

Southwood. Three of our children went to Southwood, all of which had IEP's in some degree. The staff went out of there way to help and to know our children by name. We moved out of the area or we'd still be happily there. The developmental preschool, running club, friendly staff, teachers that made a fun and comfortable learning environment and a principle that went out of her way to know the students are all things we miss and love about Southwood.
