I worked here for one year. Awful school, students don’t respect each other. Hall monitors deal with very intimidating children or children who have a rough life at home. I think they should do a better job at selecting their hall monitors. Relationships and connections are essential to how a child will interact with their peers, teachers, and parents. The tone a principal uses with the parents matters a lot. I feel like the principal always sounded exhausted and looked like she was in the verge of giving up on her students due to the fights happening every week or parents being extremely uninterested in their child’s academics. School should consider sending out emails or letters in Spanish and starting informative assemblies on how to utilize IC & discuss protocols that the school has to follow. That way parents understand why it’s important for them to show up whenever their child is caught in a physical altercation or something else.

Thai school is absolutely horrible only a few teachers actually do their job the hall ways a cramped and smell like weed there is always a fight happening somewhere the food is nasty very homophonic they will tourment you follow you through the halls and called slurs. Their is always bullying happening and if a student is caught smoking bulling or fighting they will get no punishment just a slap on the rist. And maybe a one day suspension please don’t go to Abbott it was a Traumatizing experience. The only reason to go is for your friends

I wish i can go back to my old school because this school is boring and bogus and the teachers are favoritetism and alot of the kids are snitches,and kids vape in the bathroom

Abbott is a diverse school that matches the neighborhood. Your student will need to be prepared to take on the advanced classes to get an advanced education. If s/he does, then their experience at Abbott will be advanced.I see some reviews driven by the economic struggles of the families in the neighborhood. I put forward that a Middle School is not a good option for addressing these problems. Sounds like the city could do a better job of providing information on available resources, or perhaps the school needs to assign administrative staff to coordinate providing this information to the rest of the staff.Related to bullying - my student had a positive experience working with the staff to resolve an issue. Not sure if there was a staff change since that review.

Very engaged teachers and admin. Great environment for both my very diverse kids. My introvert joined the school play and took the lead! Also learned a lot on the bball and CC teams. My son with Autism was fully supported by the admin, joined CC and band did great! Staff also helped my child thru a year long medical situation with kindness and necessary accomodations. My child didn't want a 504 plan and the school worked with her outside one to meet her needs by just listening to her and trusting her. I appreciated that immensely.

If you hate your child and want them to slowly die mentally send him/her to Abbott! 100% percent guarantee! With all the homework and quizzes in just a week they'll surely run away! Like how all Abbott parents want. 100% successful.

My boys is fitting in REALLY good and he says hes happy that i let him go 2 school. EXCEPT 4 the uniforms .He LOVES his Social Studies & Study Skills teachers. I want 2 thank ALL staff that helped put my boy @ ease when they had the emergency.
