I was an actively involved parent in the first three years of this school. We participated as the school grew from 300 students to more than 700. We found the school and district administration to be open to large amounts of Family Engagement and active communication with families. In our experience, safety was prioritized and we often felt that our child was as safe at school as they were anywhere else. The teaching staff prioritized learning in a creative and supportive way. I was especially pleased to see the focus put on social-emotional support both as a systemic priority, and with individual focus through extracurricular offerings. The amount of parent support to provide unique community offerings and support the wants and needs of staff is spectacular. If I were considering a move into Edmond, this is an elementary district that I would recommend highly.

Redbud Elementary has been an outstanding school for my family. Both of my children attended; 3rd~5th & 1st~4th. The education, environment, and care provided have been exceptional. The Principal, teachers, and staff are incredibly responsive to any concerns or questions, addressing them with kindness, professionalism, and informed solutions. Their dedication to every child’s success is evident in everything they do.I’ve participated in numerous school activities, including open houses, field trips, PTO meetings, holiday events, and school & classroom support. The feedback from other parents has been universal—our children are thriving in a positive, dynamic environment where their educational needs are met and exceeded. My children entered Redbud with special needs for English language development. The support they received was effective, compassionate, and supportive of both our children and us as parents. Over time, they progressed into the Gifted and Talented (GATE) program, which has been equally exceptional. They love Redbud and have grown tremendously academically and personally. As a bi-racial family, we’ve always felt welcomed and embraced. The school fosters inclusivity and respect. When one of my children faced a rare incident of bullying with racist undertones, the school acted immediately and effectively, involving the other child’s parents and resolving the issue. My children viewed this as an important life lesson on the fairness and beauty of American community.Redbud’s use of classroom technology enhances learning by tailoring challenges to each student’s abilities. For example, when my children finish required math tasks early, the system provides progressively harder problems to keep them engaged and address areas needing improvement. The special education staff is remarkable to observe, treating every child with respect and love. One parent described them as “Mary Poppins,” and I couldn’t agree more.PTO funds are wonderfully deployed.Principal Dargen’s high-energy leadership and effective management have created a school culture of achievement and positivity. Her vision and dedication inspire both staff and students, and I believe she has the potential to impact education on an even larger scale.Redbud Elementary has exceeded my expectations, providing a safe, supportive, and exceptional learning environment. I am truly grateful for the care, professionalism, and dedication to humanity shown by everyone at the school.

If you have a SPED student this is not the school for you. The SPED program is not a safe environment. Massive behaviors continuously happening, classroom evacuated and parents areStill not told about it. IEP wasn’t followed, which is completely illegal. Principal wants to cheer for an incompetent, inexperienced and inadequate teacher more than she wants to protect the child. Multiple meetings, empty promises, no changes. The teacher needs a new career path. Unexplained bruises on my child multiple times, no communication. Ignores emails and I have no idea what’s going on in my nonverbal child’s day. They are suppose to be their voice, yet they silence the child and choose not to advocate for them. This SPED program needs to be closed. Someone is going to get seriously hurt.

This school provides such a great sense of importance to all the children and families who attend. Redbud has been an integral part of our child’s education and growth these past few years this school is unlike any other. The principal is incredible, visible and an active participant in everyday activities and events. From what we have seen The new assistant principal goes above and beyond, we as parents appreciate the way both administrators handled everyday challenges and situations so heartfelt and with genuine compassion. My experience with all the teachers they show amazing dedication and commitment to support all the children they honestly go out of their way help all students learn. The secretaries and office staff even the nurse are examples of what all office staff should be around the district. The traditions , and assemblys the pure support and dedication and determination to ensure my child’s progress and safety makes my heart so full. All the guides and policys they have set in place here are what make my children feel part of something great. It’s a family and we love it!
