Both of my children went through this district. The opportunity to take advanced classes as well as additional help when needed contributed to their success. Particularly well funded and dedicated arts and science programs. Teachers go above and beyond.

I am a senior in the methacton high school and let me just say my experience has been pretty bad. First off there is so much bullying and discrimination towards students from both the teachers and other students. The teachers also tend to choose one student to pick on and focus on. I do not recommend sending your child here if they have learning disabilites, I have been told and heard teachers tell other students very hurtful things due to them being slower paced. Teachers have said along the lines of "What are you dumb", "You will never make it", "You will never graduate", some of the things I have heard teachers say I am too uncomfortable to even repeat. The environment of the school is very negative and toxic, most of the students here do not enjoy coming in. Everytime I walk into the building I almost feel like I am walking into a prison. Going back to how they treat students with an IEP or learning disability, Methacton is also really bad with doing their best to help the students who are slower paced and have trouble. The only decent thing about the school is the education and the multiple choices for alternative classes.

Overall. Staff does not care and quick to judge students.

I have 2 children in this high school and one more coming up that will be attending. I have found the teachers to be genuine, hard working, and probably underpaid for the level of dedication they give the kids. The wide choices of sports programs available make it possible for all types of children to participate.

I have two kids at MHS both who are receiving a top education. We have been blessed with kids who have a desire to learn and embrace all of the opportunities Methacton has to offer. Great families-great teachers-great community-great education!

Methacton represents everything that is wrong with public schools. I have three very intelligent children and this school has made them feel dumb and alone. We transferred here two years ago from out of state. We chose Methacton because of the great reviews, however, the reviews fail to disclose the pettiness and disrespect handed out by the administration (assistant principle specifically). I will be moving my youngest to a different school that supports and encourages all students, not just those with deep pockets.

Fantastic teachers and a welcoming learning environment easily make Methacton one of the best, if not the best school in the area. Most people have two complaints overall: the administration and the condition of the school. The administration is pitiful at best; to be honest. A new superintendent has been hired and seems to be overhauling the administration. As for the age of the school, personally it is not a major issue (Far better than Arcola). When compared to other local schools Methacton is ugly and old but the quality of education is truly the most important thing. In addition, arts, sports, and extra curricular programs are exceptional. Teachers seem to truly connect with students, which helps to improve moral especially during midterms and finals. If you are a parent and are worried about the rumors that Methacton is falling behind other schools, they are for the most part not true. State standardized test scores are far above the state average and surpass the majority of other local high schools. My advice to families moving into Methacton: enroll your children in honors classes and they will thrive. At Methacton the better teachers teach the better students.

Latest test scores are proof: This once-great district has been on a downward spiral. Not that MSD is bad, but the administration is: latest superintendent resigned amid scandal, and underlings/MHS principal are ineffective, bureaucratic and totally UNinvolved/out-of-touch with teachers, students, etc. Teachers, in my experience as a parents of 2 in district, try hard and seem to care but get little support. School board keeps hiring cronies for top level, do-little jobs and ignores the problems they KNOW are occurring. It's been this way for years and only getting worse. District needs a complete overall -- school board and administrators -- to regain its once prominent standing.

I am a former student of this high school, and i don't feel that they really cared about me or my brother. I was put in special education and as i improved i was never taken out they crippled me in a way. My brother is autistic and they did not help him at all when it came to school work or the fact that he was being bullied on a daily basis. I was the one that had to help him with the bullies and then got suspended for it. As a new mom I know that I will not be putting my child through this school district!

My 3 kids went through this district and I believe they received an excellent education. In college (and each went to prestigious schools), they were well-equipped, if not way ahead, of others. Granted, the school board is terrible and administration average at best, but most teachers seem top-notch -- dedicated, hardworking, talented and genuinely caring for their students, in and out of the classroom. Considering Methcton pays on the lower end of the pay scale compared to surrounding districts, I'm puzzled -- but appreciative -- that MSD managed to hire so many outstanding educators...esp. at the high school. Trust me, my husband/I moved a lot and our kids went through several districts before we MSD. PS. I agree with previous poster about the quality of student...many I've met are kind, polite, etc...and while my neighborhood has plenty of classy kids (and parents), I witnessed many efforts -- by individual teachers and the district, overall -- to specifically try to instill a sense of respect, kindness, tolerance and altruism in its students.

I was absolutely AMAZED at how polite, kind, and respectful the students at this school are. I am a sub. and I work in 17 different districts, and I have never had students like this before. Parents, staff and faculty, you deserve a big pat on the back for wonderful teaching and raising such an outstanding bunch of people!!! I sometimes leave schools in tears thinking about how abysmal their futures look, I left Methacton with tears of joy that there is still hope for the future!
