Amazing school 10/10. The teachers, the academics and the facility are all amazing. Couldn't ask for a better school for my kids.

Very Good and very strict school in Dunwoody area. My daughter goes to 1'st grade here.

Austin is an inclusive, welcoming and happy place. We have been so impressed with the administrators, teachers and level of parental involvement. My son is having a wonderful experience in Kindergarten. We highly recommend Austin!

Great school, school work is challenging, teachers are phenomenal. Can’t get much better for a public elementary school.

I love the school with all of my heart and I definitely recommend you go here if you want great teachers, and an amazing experience that your kids will look back on fondly.

Fairly homogeneous population. Disconnected school counselor who is really just a paper pusher. We have been at this school for 5 years and only just met the Principal last year. She keeps a low profile. The school's two best teachers are located in 3rd grade. Beware of 4th grade teachers. They seem to have a collective chip on their shoulders, are mean and even bullying towards the kids (especially males). The Principal instituted a ridiculous silent lunch policy. Don't expect welcoming smiles from the front office. They recently introduced an overpriced after school program that costs $95 per week and ends at 5:30. It is not designed for the working parent. If you are the child of a white SAHM wealthy PTA member, you will do fine here.

I sent my child here and it was horrible horrible horrible. I took her out and sent her to private school. The staff is horrible and the administration is worse. Beware

If your child is one of the "popular kids" you will do great here. If your child is not good luck. The teachers and administration show favoritism. My children experienced bullying and when it was brought to the attention of the guidance counselor it was ignored. Actually worse than that... the guidance counselor actually told the bully who the victim(s) were and the bullying got worse!

I find it super interesting that all of the negative reviews - notably those race-related - are not reflective of the school nor the community. For instance, at the community meetings regarding the Austin rebuild, not a *single* person reflecting the reviews below showed up to offer their support. Not one.

This is not a great school at all. The principal seems to be on some sort of power trip and everyone else is walking around like zombies. I am not impressed and the atmosphere is just weird and sad.

Austin is a wonderful school with great staff, administration and teachers. Our children have thrived at Austin. Could not be happier.

Our experience with this school has been wonderful for all of our children. Engaged teachers and administrators and very active parent involvement with a small intimate community

We have had a very negative experience at Austin. The education is good and some of the teachers are wonderful. However, we have also had teachers who do not seem to care and do not take the time to get to know their students. The school also completely lacks a sense of community and is not willing to volunteer information. You have to know which questions to ask, but that is very hard for a newcomer. Overall, we really regret buying in the Austin district.

Austin has been a great place for my child to learn and grow academically and socially. Every teacher from PreK to current 2nd grade has done a wonderful job teaching my child and communicating well with me as a parent. Overall, there are very caring and experienced teachers at Austin that do a great job as educators. The administration is top notch. The parent support is outstanding in terms of supporting volunteer efforts through time and donations. The combination of teachers, administration, staff, and parents make Austin super special for the students. I've been asked why my child isn't in a private school. My answer is, "why would I do that when I have an amazing public school like Austin right here?"

Feel my children have had at a great experience at Austin. If I have concerns I feel comfortable speaking to the teacher about them. My kids do well on exams so I know they have been given the appropriate amount of instruction to help them to be successful. The families are great and the overall parent involvement makes you feel comfortable helping out at the school whenever needed.

Think twice before u select this school for your child. staff is very rude and impolite. They welcome according to race only. So If you are not an American Think twice before choose this school. Your kids will be welcome and get more chances if you are able to donate fundraisers, and more money, it doesn't matter if child is talented, only thing that Austin needs is your money. My child's homeroom teacher was so rude from the very beginning and wasn't even a little bit helpful. She was always discouraging my child by yelling at my child in front of the class. But for a American child who came after my child teacher was so kind and helpful. This is the most bad school I ever experienced.

My kids gained important educational foundational skills - which their former elementary school could just not get in front of.

If your child has a learning difference but does not meet criteria for an IEP, this school is awful. Awful. The county psychologist (representing Austin) and upper administration's response to my child's independent testing were stunningly disrespectful and rude. Hire an educational advocate to navigate this school if your child has learning differences.

Worst school for Pre K kids! The teachers are cold and rude to parent's queries. Won't even bother to reply on emails and will not try to comfort the kids if they are crying. They are busy doing their paper work while the kids are arriving in morning and expect them to stop crying and settle on their own. They are happy with only those kids who do not bother them much!!
