Dunellen is a small town with excellent public schools. The high school offers an impressive array of AP courses and has quite a few ivy league admissions annually. The student population is prepared extremely well for college. Compared to other surrounding towns, Dunellen's high school is consistently ranked above average, providing an extremely safe and warm environment for its students.

My kids came from a “blue ribbon” school. It I have to say I made the right choice to move back and send my kids to the schools. The teachers are wonderful! My eldest was having issues with Math or at least at the “blue ribbon” school. She is excelling, her confidence is nothing like I’ve seen before! The kids at the school are friendly, the teachers want the kids to grasp the lessons- they teach with heart. Yes it’s small but the teachers are able give more time for one-on-one, if necessary. We now have a new superintendent that is fine to bring this school district to a higher academic level, prepare students for their future.

DHS is not a recommended school at all. The school teachers are know as being horrible in a discriminatory or sexist way.

The academics in the school are below par. The teachers seem to act like the students and would prefer to fit in with the kids as oppose to be the adult teaching in the classroom. The district is small as well as the school budget so basically, the teachers aren't the cream of crop. If I had the money I would send my kids to private school, but unfortunately, I'm not able to. The school also lacks in the athletics department offering only a handful of sports.
