I was reading past reviews of this school and they were mostly based on the old school building which was demolished and a new one was just built a few years ago along with newer younger staff. My son is special needs and he loves this school, always happy and excited to go and see his friends and teachers. The new Dundalk Elementary is gorgeous, all high tech and very clean. My son has been progressing a great deal thanks to its great teachers and counselors who care deeply about his education and well being. The reviews of this school should be revised because they do not reflect the actual progress.

The staff and 2015 Administrators are the best in Baltimore County! They actually care wholeheartedly about their children and are wonderful with the parents. The building however is falling apart! The roof leaks causing causing classes to be evacuated, The water runs brown from the faucets, The school is very OVERCROWDED max capacity is 590 and the 2015 school year there were 750 students enrolled and a full staff of 70, Due to the small cafeteria and number of children lunch starts at about 10am and ends around 2pm with school letting out at 3:05 pm, This school has no Air conditioning and with the outdated electric it can not be fitted for Air, The heating system is horrible most heaters have to be turned on with scissors and IF they do work the rooms overheat causing windows to be opened. Dundalk Elementary was a school built in 1925 with little to no upkeep done. This school is a classic example of a school that has been neglected big time.

My child is in the first grade at DES. I have been lucky enough to be able to spend a lot of time at the school in the last 2 yrs and have gotten to know a lot of the staff. I have found that they really care about each child as an individual and they take a great deal of time helping and making sure each child is successful. They are very helpful when it comes to letting you know exactly what your child is doing in school which I find very comforting. I have loved our first 2 years at DES and am thankful my child gets to be apart of this school.
