Very Satisfied! My Twins attend Duncan Elementary. One of them is dependent on 24/7 Nursing care. This school has gone above and beyond all measures to meet all of her needs from supplying a Nurse that's by her side throughout the whole day to making sure she has complete access to all areas. She is able to get everywhere with her wheelchair. Everyone from her peers to staff has been very welcoming and accepting to her needs. We Love Dr. Hill and everyone else here! Thank you for all you do!

My third child is about to start school here, and I couldn't be happier. My oldest son has autism, and he has received so much academic help and love from the staff. He has gone through schools in Illinois, where they refused to even diagnose him, let alone help him... this is one of the reasons we moved here. The special ed and speech therapy he received has been excellent, plus the teachers are so sweet! DES has an early intervention reading program available for anyone who is struggling. My second child was in this program, and is now a straight-A student. I know most of the DES staff by name, and they are so caring. I love their positive behavioral programs like the anti-bulling program, Terrific Kids, and the Fabulous Fun days. They are implementing more and more security features to help keep our kids safe, and I love it. The only reason the Great Schools rating isn't that high is because it is based solely on standardized testing results. I don't know about you, but I would rather have amazing teachers and have my kids actually eager to go to school and learn every day than have them score high on a ridiculous test they take once a year.

I am a divorced single mother. My children are in their second year at this school and I am so disappointed with the exception of the individual teachers my children have had. The office staff talks to me like I am stupid and are very rude to me. I am extremely angry over a few incidents with their "check out" process. I was having surgery so my mother went to pick the kids up and they would not let her (even though she was on the checkout list) because I had not called or written a note to let them know. So please explain: What is the point of having the list if those persons cannot check out the children? Then six months later I removed my mother due to an unfortunate personal situation and notified the front office she is NOT to come to the school and see the kids. One day they started calling parents at 10am to say that school was letting out at 11:30am due to bad weather and were unable to reach me so guess who they called? My mother-who I specified as NOT allowed to do so. Talk about some inappropriate practices. So beware-Unfair practices and unfair judgement according to your income for some mediocre education. I am moving and changing schools as soon as possible.
