Not a good school to send your kids to especially if you are not rich white and of higher middle class

I agree with the view that the school does tend to be cliquish. You have to be on guard that your child is not stigmatized. It does however excel in resources

Very cliquish environment. I think you might have trouble at this school if you are not a part of a group that has high social status. The teachers and parents are quick to target families who don't fit the social mold and the children at the school quickly follow suit. Subtle bullying, which mostly consists of upper-middle class exclusion and snobbery occasionally crosses the line into full on cruelty. Academically, I think that most of the students are coached heavily by their parents to be successful, but they aren't natively more intelligent than the children in the less wealthy school district that we transferred from. Certainly, the kids here are being raised to believe that they are smarter than others, and the school staff seems to believe that it is the "cream of the crop" although I have not found the teachers here to be especially exceptional. Overall, I would say that your children will get a decent academic education here, provided that they can withstand the harsh, judgmental emotional climate. If they are very socially intelligent and of high status they will be fine. Otherwise, bundle up! You and your child will be frozen out!

Just okay. If your child is popular and well-liked by the teachers he/she will probably have a good experience there. Unfortunately, that has not been our situation. Very gossipy teachers ruin a child's reputation, but unfortunately, bullying by teachers is not part of the public school system's anti-bullying campaign.

This is the first year that all my children attended DRE. This year has been a vanguard year for my 3 boys, thanks to a bunch of amazing educators. Educators who have been my children's advocate and have worked with Dublin City Schools to provide each with individualized attention. I love Dublin City Schools for the fantastic resources they have available for our children. It's extremely effective use of our tax dollars. From a teacher who takes vacation time to take her math class to Space Camp in Huntsville Alabama over a four day weekend, a 6'4 teacher that jumps on desks and invents rap songs to get the kids excited about History, to a magical teacher who makes each of her 24 kindergartners feel individually extraordinary. Thank you!

All 3 of my girls attended Deer Run. Principal Lorraine Rubadue is an outstanding leader and we so appreciated our experiences at DRE!
