All of my children went to Channing Hall. I loved so much that now I am an employee there!

Channing Hall is incredible. The students are eager to learn and excited to be apart of their school community. The teachers are engaging and intentional in their teaching. The administration is supportive and very much involved in all things “wolves”.

Overall, we did not have a great experience at this school. This is unfortunate as there are many great teachers and staff (librarians, PE Teacher, Reading Staff, Shane Smith to name a few). I hope the new leadership team (starting Fall 2019) will provide some much needed redirection, guidance, communications, and school spirit.

We’ve been happy here. Especially love that our kids can come here together through 8th grade. The building is small and doesn’t allow for many ammenities (example, gym is also cafeteria) but it is also small enough that kids of different grades share many of the same spaces. Younger ones know their older siblings are nearby. The grading system is quite confusing.

We love Channing Hall's caring, academic environment. Each week students get to do Art, PE, Brain Gym, Spanish, Music, Library and Technology in addition to their core subjects. They can attend Band, Choir or Orchestra and after school cross country etc. We love all that they have to offer in addition to making school fun.

Channing Hall is AWESOME. The teachers are passionate about education and create a nurturing environment where they know and care about your kid. Students are challenged academically and the classes are always doing cool projects that push kids to think beyond the information presented on a given subject. The IB curriculum encourages exploration and challenges students to be good citizens, able to make an impact on the world. Channing Hall is a private school education at a public school price.

Channing Hall teaches students the skills that are needed in the 21st century: problem-solving, creative thinking, communication skills (oral and written), and teamwork. All of the teachers that we have encountered are firm believers in the principals of the International Baccalaureate program and the principals of the school: intellectual agility, differentiated instruction, and student-community involvement. Channing Hall has a very high percentage of experienced, creative, and effective teachers and administrators. We have been very pleased with our experience at Channing Hall.

My children are getting a world class education at this school. Channing Hall is an accredited International Baccalaureate academy serving grades K-8. They have a rigorous curriculum, highly qualified teachers, safe environment, excellent communication between school and home, and an actively engaged community. Two of my children have moved on to high school. Both were well prepared to meet the educational demands and transitioned smoothly. The principal of Corner Canyon High School, Mary Bailey, said, "Across the board, Channing Hall students were not only prepared for the rigorous courses of high school, but they had honed their skills for organizing and following through. Channing Hall students adjusted well socially and academically to our new school and have been positive contributors!"

It is Utah's first K-8 IB school. The teachers and the administrative staff are excellent and share a great rapport with all the students and parents. The curriculum is wholesome and it is given in a nurturing environment. The Middle school faculty is highly qualified and have been instrumental in getting the middle school students 100% ready for the educational rigors of high school. It has been a great choice for my kids and my family.

Eleven years and counting. Channing Hall is home. All of my kids attended this outstanding IB K-8 school. They learned to read, write and speak Spanish; they were challenged by the math curriculum, they learned to make pottery, prints, paintings and paper; they absorbed rich history lessons, learned how to play the ukulele and recorder; played on the middle school competitive sports teams; learned how to cook, balance a budget and be responsible for flour babies and egg babies; they got to do science and participate in not only the school fair, but the district charter fair and the state level too. They went to the state math competition in middle school and also played laser tag to learn about the reflection of light. They got dressed up all fancy to try out etiquette at the Grand America and then go to the symphony, a ballet and a museum. They spent the night at The Museum of Ancient Life for Dinosnorzz and they dug up their own buckets of geodes in Dugway. They dressed up as their favorite hero from history for a wax museum and they attended Daddy Daughter dances. Simply put, there is always something new that this "agile learning" school has up their sleeve to keep the kids engaged. The school has so much technology and the students learn to use it correctly: kindergarteners making a slides how presentation, for example. The teachers and staff truly care about the well-being of all of the students at Channing Hall. Take a tour and see for yourself. The kids are happy, having fun and learning. Most kids that leave the school to go on to 9th grade will take all honors and even AP classes with ease. See the school in action and compare it to any other school around. Channing just feels right.

The small size creates an atmosphere where students will get a very personalized education. The teachers know and care about the students. The students learn the state curriculum exceptionally well and are also taught how to be organized, how to learn effectively, and how to interact with peers and adults properly. When they leave Channing Hall to go onto high school they are beyond prepared academically and socially. Students also can participate in extra-curricular activities such as student leadership and competitive sports.

Channing Hall provides an exceptional IB World school community for parents, staff, and students. As a teacher, I not only teach Utah History Core Standards, but I am given flexibility to teach concepts through a global lens. Students are engaged in relevant and rigorous learning activities on a regular basis. Our middle school community is close-knit and caring. I love Channing Hall!

I love how this school focuses on more than just academics, but helps children to be good, proactive citizens or contributors to the community. It feels like a family community and everyone supports one another. Students are given chances to explore topics and ask questions and discover their own learning. The specials program is incredible at this school!

Channing Hall is different from the charter school industry that is now overcoming the Salt Lake Valley. The faculty are passionate, and the world IB curriculum is a real difference maker if you want to give your children a larger perspective. We moved our kids to CH because the public schools are underfunded and we were vary of the branch-crazy charter schools (ever wonder if they can really hire quality staff for so many branches?)- the quality and dedication of the faculty validates our choice every day!

Channing Hall has a top notch facility, elecronic whiteboards, brand new computer lab, one-to-one Chromebooks for fifth through eighth grade, a fully stocked art room with a kiln, a fabulous music room, and fantastic staff that care about your children.

This school has good intentions but falls short. I had my kids at this school for 6 years and I put in countless volunteer hours. Our family is leaving because of the many gaps in education and the lack of organization and leadership. If you have a child above average do not waste your and their time at this school.

At public school my daughter was at the low end of normal academically and so never got the extra in-class help she needed. She started slipping through the cracks and was lost in the shuffle but as long as she met the state requirements that was "good enough" and this was only 1st grade! She started 2nd grade at Channing Hall and at this school "good enough" is not good enough. Right away she was flagged as needing extra help in math and reading and got the tutoring she needs. I have seen her ability skyrocket and she is now performing above average and well above state requirements. She actually ENJOYS reading! The staff and aids have been a blessing and knew how to help her without making her feel like one of the "slow" kids. In my 9 years in public school with other children I have yet to see a principal who is so on top of teacher performance and student well-being. I love the uniforms, the teacher-student ratio, the emphasis on service projects...everything! Next year I will have kindergartener and 6th grader attend also.

Channing Hall is one of a kind. I attended my 6th-8th grade years, and I have nothing but fond memories. I graduated in 2011 and quickly discovered that I was not only ready for high school in general, but also my honors and AP classes. The challenging curriculum at CH prepared me for the challenging years of high school I have experienced so far. My friends prefer to pretend that the "awkward transition from elementary to high school" never happened. I'm the one who has nothing but good things to say about my middle school experience. It made me "an agile learner who values others' perspectives and knows how to learn." My teachers at CH set the bar for educational excellence. I often reminisce about the time they spent opening my eyes to the world. I consider them the best mentors, inspirations, and friends I will ever have. I still go back to visit. Each time, it feels as though I've returned home. I received the best education from the best educators, but more than that, I was taught how to be a good person. Someday I hope to return to the halls of CH as a teacher myself, and presuming everything falls into place, my children will attend Channing Hall as well.

I have been a teacher here since it opened. Many challenges and obstacles await a brand new school that is working to obtain authorization from the IBO. We go over and beyond the duties of a regular school teacher. We have over 100 hours of professional development each year. We each have a teaching coach, we collaborate regularly and we construct projects that are cross-curricular. We expose students to other cultures and other ideas that may be different from their own and encourage them to think critically. All students participate in community service. Every student (K-8) has a PE, music, art and Spanish teacher. We have a school-wide science fair and participate in the Art Inspirations program. We have sports teams for grades 6-8 who compete against other charter schools. In doing all of these things, teachers have little tolerance for mis-behavior and bullying. Kids and parents are held responsible. In this day and age when everything is everyone else's fault, parents need take a step back, find the root of the problem, which is usually at home, and stop blaming the schools. We love teaching and we want every student to succeed and become caring members of society.

We are trying to get our elementary student out of this school. I do not recommend putting your children in Channing Hall. Besides the dirty halls and classrooms, the administration, office staff and the teachers are very sub par.Our child was way ahead in a public school and has fallen behind in Channing Hall The drop off and pick up system is a joke and very unorganized. The computes are outdated and the overall experience at Channing Hall has been horrible.
