Our experience in the past 4 years has been positive, we love the community of families, the friends our children are making, and the overall education they are getting. Parents are very involved and that is seen in their volunteering for various projects and committees, teachers are amazing and create a positive learning environment for our children.

Average curriculum. The school has an excellent team of parents who will post positive reviews about the non existent STEM program and anti bullying policy that exists in the school handbook. Most families who’ve had legitimate complaints were the ones who left because the Principal has a knack for blaming the victims or dismissing issues as non existent. It’s the same stories you hear every time but other parents don’t do anything about it when it’s not their problem or they’re just hoping we get new leadership soon. With that aside- it’s a an excellent community with parents who are involved and don’t give themselves enough credit for the great jobs their kids do. The teachers are great and they do the best with the resources they do have. These two components combined is what makes our kids successful as they get into high school. One fails without the other. I believe the school has great potential to really be the best in the area; and until we have a new principal, the other schools are just as good for the money.

With so many good schools to choose from in this community, I thought it would be difficult to choose the right one for our children. After touring the school, meeting the teachers, and talking with other school families, there was no doubt in my mind that St. Joseph School was the right decision. It has proven to provide a challenging academic curriculum in a nurturing, welcoming environment. Faith formation is evident at every level, including preschool, which was important to us. The administration and teachers clearly love what they do and are accessible and responsive. My children have enjoyed the extracurricular activities available. The friendships my children, husband and I have made are invaluable.

St Joe's is the place if you want community involvement, a caring environment and a challenging curriculum. This school has shaped my children into caring individuals that don't think twice about giving back to the community. And best of all what they learned academically has made it easy for them to excel in High School. My eldest was accepted into every college that he applied for. Thank you St Joe!

Every day we are steadfast and secure in our selection of St. Joseph's for our child's education. Not only are the teachers incredible but the classes are much smaller than the rest of the area schools and the curriculum is outpacing other programs. Additionally, the families affiliated with St. Joe's are warm, caring, amazing people that we love having our child grow up around. We would recommend St. Joe's to anyone looking for a superior, well rounded, faith-based education for their children.

Each day we get confirmation that we made the right choice for our first-grader. St. Joe's offers an excellent learning environment (thanks to great leadership and teachers) along with a warm, community feel (highlighted by the Catholic values that are an integral part of the St. Joe's experience). This is truly a special place!

We've been very happy with our St. Joe's experience. The academics are appropriately challenging while the teachers provide a supportive learning environment in their classrooms. We receive a lot of communication to let us know how our children are performing. The sense of community is first rate. There's also strong parental support for the school and lots of opportunities to volunteer for outside activities without being presssured. A great Catholic School choice

we've been to three different Catholic grade school with my kids over a long range of years due to my husbands career responsibilities. St. Joseph school here in Downers Grove is BY FAR !! the best. The kids class camaraderie is fantastic. My kids are academically challenged with their homework and i cant say enough about their religious staff and their all school mass. Here is the special thing I find very unique...it's more than 100yrs old and there is a great excitement about the school with the kids AND parents !! Fun at social gathering and various athletic events even with the very young grades...ive never seen anything like this at our prior school. Truly special.

My children love St. Joe's and as parents we are convinced that we made the right decision in sending them there. This is a caring faith-based environment with excellent teachers/leadership. Our children are learning and meeting state standards in education which will give them an excellent foundation for the future. Additionally, Catholic values are being reinforced in the school setting which is just as important to us.

My son started Kindergarten at St Joes last year and both of us love it. St Joseph School has provided my son with a great one-on-one learning environment as well as a sense of community. Stay at home parents are always willing to help out with the working parents and tons of parent involvement with various aspects.

Our children are thriving under the educational leadership of the St. Joe's faculty. The teachers, techer aides and the entire staff are amazing and truly care about each and every kid that enters the building. Opportunities are many for parents that want to get/stay involved at every age level.

We looked at several schools before choosing St. Joseph School of Downers Grove for our two children. Our oldest is now in high school and getting straight A's in honors-level courses. St. Joe's has been a wonderful experience for our children AND for our family. It's a true community where everyone is welcome. The no-cut sports program has phenomenal participation and there are lots and lots of extracurricular activities, social events and volunteer opportunities. Parents are very involved which makes for a fantastic academic atmosphere. The school enjoys wonderful support of the entire Parish and every aspect of the school [from academics to sports] is instilled with the Catholic tradition of faith and personal responsibility. It's truly a fantastic school. Parents couldn't ask for a better place to send their children.
