This school is so low in performance it barely scores a 1 out of 10, 10 being the best score. It is very clear they have a discipline problem and are failing to offer any meaningful remediation programs to get their low performing students to at least meet the state averages. It must be very depressing to work at a school that has clearly sunk to the bottom. And I'll bet this school has administrators drawing six figure salaries all the while they are failing their charges big time. Sure, let's worry about metrics like "equity" when very few if any of the students who do manage to graduate are functional in the workplace and in life. The principal in this school should be ashamed of the school, and most of all; their own level of incompetence!

Bad overall considering the teachers act more like kids and the student get punished for acting as their teachers are displaying..

Dothan High School is a phenomenal school within the Dothan City School system. My parents preferred for me to go to Dothan High, rather than Northview due to personal preference. With that being said, I can only say great things about DHS!

Dothan High School has a few decent points if you look past all the negativity surrounding it. As a student who has lived in various states, I would say that this school is average compared to other schools I have attended. I have some amazing teachers, and some teachers that I abhor. I would rather go here than Northview or Rehobeth, though; people here seem to get along. Our band is really good, and we have a good art program. If you decide to come to Dothan High, sign up for honors and AP classes and surround yourself with good students and you'll do fine :)

Both of my sons attend DHS. My oldest son is a part of the band and loves it. My youngest is a part of JROTC and takes great pride in participating in the group. I feel that the teachers and administration work hard to provide the best learning environment for the students.
