My child attends Priest. I like to mention one teacher in partcular who was excellent dealing with my child who has a disability. Mrs. Courtright teaches 2nd grade. My child was diagnosed with ADHD and was having great difficulty. I thank her personally for her great efforts. However, not all teachers follow procedures to ensure equal education!

I have taught for over 20 yrs. at 5 different Detroit Public Schools, and Priest Elementary School has by far the best teachers in the system. We are 950+ students strong and our staff cares about each and every one. We work together to help the children in any way we can. The entire staff is truly a 'family' in the strongest sense of the word. They go above and beyond every day, and any child would be lucky to attend Priest! We have many before- and after-school tutoring programs including transportation and meals. The staff is knowledgable, caring, conscientious, and dedicated. Come check us out!

A muliticultural environment where students are encouraged to have open communication with teachers and staff. They participate in accelerated reading and mathematics programs and have different after school tutoring and programs for their students. Administration needs to improve their communcation skills and their is a need for more bilingual staff.
