Hello, I graduated from Pershing High School back in 1979. Due to careful planning on my part, little assistance from my parents and no assistance from the school, the day after graduating I went to boot camp in the US Navy. I don’t feel that I was prepared to deal with the workforce upon leaving high school. I blame my parents for just sending me to to basically fend for myself with very little support. I blame faculty and staff for not believing in me and ultimately I have to take some of the blame for my lack of preparation. I think now as back in 1979 Pershing High School , DPS Schools as is not the place if a parent values their child’s education. Things will probably not get better unless parents, school, community and students work to change things.
