We have been thrilled with our experience at Hubbell. The academic programs are excellent, especially the IB program. The leadership--both principal and teachers--is outstanding. We have been pleased with our teachers and how much our child has grown. Hubbell does a great job with gifted children and we have been especially pleased with the innovative methods teaching reading comprehension. The parent community is very active and it has been easy to develop friendships by participating in the many class room and school functions. The school cultivates a joy of learning, and as parents who are educators, there is nothing more important.

Hubbel Elementary provides a wonderful and devoted staff in a charming "old world" setting within the hub of the vibrant and culturally diverse Des Moines, Iowa. It's been my experience that the parents are also deeply involved and supportive in school activities. For these and many other reasons, we've chosen Hubbell for our son's early education. He's third generation Hubbell, following in the footsteps of his grandmother & grandfather as well as his great uncle and great aunt. In my opinion, Hubbell is certainly one if not the best of the Des Moines "Westside" public schools.

All three of my children have gone to hubbell and received a great education and experience that will be the foundation of their future.

Hubbell is the first International Baccelaureate Elementary School in the State of Iowa. The teachers care to improve the skills and efforts of their students. Tim Schott is the greatest Principal who is engaged with his students, motivating for his staff, and a wonderful family man.
