This school is terrible the student are below grade level and they act crazy

I'm so disappointed in the new principal. Mrs. Sites left big shoes to fill. I've had 3 interactions with Mrs. Demel; all negative & school hasn't even started. I came in to volunteer twice & for enrollment & wasn't even acknowledged by her. She didn't even come out of her office. When I was introduced later she seemed too busy to engage with my child. Great teachers, poor leadership. You're better than this Derby.

Tanglewood is a wonderful elementary school! My children love coming to school every morning and always come home happy with something new they learned to talk about. The office staff is welcoming and very helpful whenever you need to get a message to your student or take them out for an appointment. The teachers and paras are all wonderful people who seem happy to be at work everyday. They have a fantastic parent group that helps with hosting family events and fundraising for field trips and school supplies. We were very scared when we first walked in to Tanglewood 5 years ago because of the open concepts, but have been pleasantly surprised how well the kids learn and focus when they are older because of the skills they learned at an early age at Tanglewood.

My son is falling behind in his academics due to the lack of attention from his teacher. Very disturbing to see red notations on his homework yet nothing corrective has been done about it.
