    Swaney is a great school!! It still has a little of that "Old Derby" feel, the way things used to be, in all the good ways! I went to Swaney in the 70s and a lot of its small-town charm remains. They still tape the class rosters and "who got which teacher" on the glass a few days before school . I remember going up there and reading the results by our car's headlights. On "Meet the Teacher" night, the principal greeted all of us warmly as we entered the building. This Saturday, there is a "Rock the Block" party just as a back to school event! There will be bounce houses, a DJ, games, food trucks, and a special Glow in Dark event in the gym!! Teachers, parents, and students are down-to-earth, and just look at those test scores! I am so happy my kids go here!

    Wonderful school with impressive and caring set of teachers and staff. Couldn't ask for a better elementary school for my son!

    Fantastic facilities; great teachers and a very capable administrative staff. Swaney is educated another generation of our family.
