My daughter just began sixth grade and I love the school so far. It's going through a lot of changes due to budget issues, but it's bouncing back. All of her teachers seem competent and welcoming. They adopted the new core standards and are adjusting accordingly. The principal is amazing. So easy to approach and you can tell he loves his job. There could be little more parental involvement, but I hope that will change with the new 6th grade class. There's talk of more wonderful things to come in the future so I'm very excited.

The principal is amazing! He greets the parents and students every morning and is there at the end of each school day. The staff at DMS have helped my kids feel welcomed and have helped them to enjoy school again. I am so pleased with the teacher/parent communication. This is a vital part to student success. I feel I can talk to them about any concerns I may have and they respond promptly with feedback. I graduated from here in 1994 and I am so glad my kids have the opportunity to as well.

if this is the school that told the boy he couldn't have the American Flag on his bike, then you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Disgusted by their attempt to prohibit that young patriot from proudly displaying the American Flag...shame on you....love it or leave it...I suggest you do the latter!!!

Poor Leadership with inability to reach stated goals. More concerned about appearances then the reality of being an educational institution to children. These Administrators are only trying to hold on to their retirement benefits.

Remove the American flag? I rate this school at less than unsatisfactory. Whoever made this decision should be fired immediately if not sooner.

Poor teaching. Terrible academic leadership by administration. How can this be a very good school that never makes its testing goals, that has teachers with multi-subject credentials teaching upper level math, social studies, English, and science. The parents know that this school is in academic trouble as 87 students have left this district in the last 2 years, but still live in the district. This school is making the local private schools rich. Get real, new buildings and new paint do not make a school. A great school has dedicated teachers and administrators that want parent involvement, not cancelling parent teacher conferences as unnecessary and a waste of time.

This school is very good. We are going through budget issues right now, who isn't, but we will get through it. The staff if very helpful and mindful. We just wish it had more to offer in academics and extracurricular. But we are hopeful and very involved with our kids so we can help when we need too. Anyone who leaves the teaching to just teachers shouldn't complain. We need to be there too.
