If you are looking for a christian school that teaches your children a solid christian world-view, develops good character and prepares them well for college, you found it! The leadership is excellent, the kindness and compassion of the staff is incredible, and the family-friendly environment has fostered friendships that will last a lifetime. We are so thankful for our experience there! The sports programs are excellent. Although there are many choices of good christian schools in the greater Columbus area, hands down...if we had to do it again (we have a graduating senior this year)...we would choose DCS over any other school.

All 4 of my children attend school there, and I wouldn't send them anywhere else.

Our experience was disappointing as we thought a new administrator might bring about positive changes. Although the administrator has brought changes I can't say many of them have been positive. School board appears to be completely ineffective and just goes along with being spoon fed.

Administrator was a huge disappointment. He allowed problems to persist instead of getting involved parties to the table and getting to the bottom of the issue. He does not seem to be approachable to students or parents when there is an issue. Elementary principal is impressive and Dean of Students seems to be professional and a good mentor to students.

This is the second year our children have attended DCS in the elementary grades and we could not be more pleased with our decision to join this community. Our educational experience so far has included a different private Christian school, public school and homeschooling. All were adequate educationally and socially, but we wanted something more for our kids. DCS maintains excellent educational standards, provides many fun ways for students and parents to get involved socially and does it all through the lens of a Biblical world view. The administration and staff aim to engage our kids through challenging and dynamic classroom instruction, which should be the goal of all schools. DSC stands apart, however, because they accomplish this while also aiming to connect with the students on a heart level. Knowing that our kids' teachers pray for them, care deeply about their character development and ultimately want them to follow Jesus has been a blessing to our family. Accomplishing all these things with the correct mixture of discipline and grace is no easy task, but the staff here does it well. We are blessed to have DCS as a partner in raising our kids.

Due to moving around the country, our children have been involved in four different Christian schools and Delaware Christian is the best. The acedemics are top notch, the athletics are challenging and character building, the students are kind and respectful, the parents are welcoming and down to earth, and the faculty are loving and compassionate. It has been such an easy transition for our family. We love the focus and direction the school is heading and would recommend it for any family who is looking for a well balanced Christian education.

We have been at DCS for 10 years now with two who have graduated. We originally enrolled for the Christ centered structure, but beyond happy with their educational standards. The new Elementary Principal and Head Administrator are both doing a wonderful job of bringing DCS to the top of Christian Education with their curriculum and professional standards for staff. Love the new Mentoring Program started this year for secondary students.

Where do I start? I have to sadly agree with the other reviewer about the unequal discipline! They are desperately trying to keep their enrollment numbers up and will do little to nothing with these godless teen boys that are behaving badly. Also, we had heard from Christian friends about this school, but thought we would try it and extend grace to them. Boy were we wrong! If you're not in their "click" you won't ever be. You would do well to look for a truly Christian education somewhere else.

Our kids have been enrolled at DCS since they started Kindergarten. Our oldest just graduated and we have one left in High School. We enrolled our kids at DCS for very specific reasons: We wanted them to receive an excellent education from a Christian worldview and in the context of Christian community. That is what we experienced at DCS! Educationally, DCS continues to shine brightly. Standardized test scores continue to be among the highest in the county. Students are extremely well-prepared for whatever they choose next in life, whether it be college, military, ministry, or family life. The excellent education at DCS is enhanced by the Christian worldview through which it is delivered. Best of all, students also learn an appreciation of the other worldviews they will encounter in life. Finally, the Christian community at DCS is beautiful. Of course it is also 'messy', just like every other Christian community. But the genuine love the teachers, administration and staff show toward the students is evident and encouraging. We have absolutely loved our time at DCS, and would enthusiastically recommend this school to anyone and everyone in the Delaware area!

I have had the privilege of viewing Delaware Christian School from all three perspectives: teacher, parent, and now board member. As a teacher, I felt extremely blessed to be a part of such a called and committed ministry team. Many mornings during teacher devotions and prayer, I wished that our parents could hear the compassion and concern for the students and their families that was expressed in prayer. As a parent, I have rejoiced to have DCS partnering with us in the training and nurturing of our adopted grandson. They have encouraged his walk with the Lord, as well as challenged him academically. Upon retiring from 30+ years of Christian education ministry, I accepted a position on the board. I have been deeply impressed by these men and women, committed to being used by God to further His work at DCS. Their level of concern for the quality of both education and ministry at DCS goes beyond expectation. I am grateful to have been a part of Delaware Christian is these three areas and would highly recommend DCS to others seeking Christian education for their children and grandchildren. -- Judy Gibson

I started school at DCS in elementary and grew up there, recently graduating. The class sizes are small, which I thought was wonderful... I didn't have to worry about being a lost face. All the teachers knew me well. The teachers take time to get to know the students, almost to a point when they know a certain student will struggle with an aspect or will have trouble completing the homework. It's great! Although some students will complain about the uniforms, personally, I was grateful to have them. I didn't have to worry about what I was going to wear each day. The curriculum is tough. It certainly prepares students to go to college, as I feel I am ready to move on to the next phase of life. As with everything, DCS is not perfect and has its flaws... those flaws, however, are nothing compared to the positive things about the school. My family and I have always enjoyed DCS, the administration, and the positive outcome from me being a student.

What a shame I have to give DCS one star! No amount of complaining to the principal or school board president has changed anything. Discipline is inconsistent. The high school teachers are pleasant and well-intentioned, but some are just not good teachers! Test scores are falling, e.g., OGTs. Enough of the teachers are always behind in grading and recording grades that it's inexcusable. Teachers are teaching courses that they are just not trained to do so. The principal is ineffective at keeping his teachers on course and he talks about making changes, but it's just talk. My husband and I have complained repeatedly about the lack of consistent discipline (one kid gets into trouble for one thing while another student does the same thing with no disciplinary action taken) and nothing ever changes. We were heavily involved in the school--we tried our best for the sake of the students. DCS students deserve a better school and principal. He has too much control over the school board and even the pastor of the church. Who's watching the principal to ensure he's doing the right thing? (I am only speaking of the high school. My girls were never at DCS for elementary).

I love this school! My teen has been attending since Kindergarten, as have my younger kids. The teachers teach and guide kids and love on them. They encourage them to do their best. The principals uphold Biblical principles and discipline. Kids will be kids growing up, no matter what kind of school they attend, and DCS uses Biblical lessons to help correct the kids when they need it. The coaches care about both their sports AND their athletes. And when you compare performance vs cost to similar schools in the area, DCS comes out WAY ahead. Not to mention that the local city schools spend more on ONE child than DCS costs for four (last I read, it was $16K for ONE student in the public schools, whereas you could do about four kids for the same price at DCS). This is an Excellent school, and I'm very, very happy that our kids attend Delaware Christian School.

Your child will receive a top notch education both academically and spiritually! Our son has experienced an incredible amount of support, care, and guidance in his now going on four years at DCS! The staff is willing to work with the parents to overcome any hurdles our challenges your child may go thru and the constant dedication and love illustrated by this school is so evident in my child's life and education! We are so blessed to be apart of the DCS family!
