The school is amazing, the teachers are supportive and hardworking. Additionally, they make the learning environments comfortable for students. The teachers truly want to get to know the students!

Exceptional, real-world experiences for students. Teachers KNOW the students and build relationships with them.

Outstanding experience with this school. The measures above do not accurately reflect the Dual Credit opportunities in which students can graduate with 30 credit hours, work-based learning opportunities, and CO-Op Learning.

The staff and administrators can be very rude and unhelpful at times. The dean doesn’t solve issues, and the janitors are just about the only cool people there. It’s sad that janitors are more helpful than teachers when a teachers job is to help a student grow and learn. Janitors have to take care of the school. The computer classes only reach you how to run certain programs, or code robots. All of the kids who aren’t interested in that and up failing, I think that coding should be an optional class so that the students who do join participate and make it easier for the tech teachers

This school is absolutely terrible. Delavan C.U.S.D. #703 has left me totally unprepared for life on all fronts. Academically this school is a joke. The books are pre colonial at best. The teachers, obviously not motivated by paycheck, couldn't care less about your education or well being. The administrative staff are paid far more than they should be and are commonly referred to as leeches. In regards to the IT department...words don't quite do justice to their incompetence and general computer illiteracy. The sports program is underfunded and substandard. The coaches know nothing about the activity or sport in which they coach. The programs could be aptly compared to a second rate nanny. All in all this apathy ridden school is, in the simplest term, bad.

This is what a small town school is all about! The classes are small, teachers and administrators know every student and, more importantly, care about every student. They make a concerted effort to serve the needs of each student - across the spectrum of abilities. Student who struggle are given the attention they need; students that excel are provided with opportunities to reach their full potential. While the size of the school does limited the breadth of classes offered (e.g., only Spanish is offered as a foreign language), what is available is top notch. While other schools have nice physical structure and greater resources, I doubt the educational experience can match what is available at Delavan. As parents, we are thrilled with our decision to live in Delavan and have our child attend school here.
