Since kindergarten my kids experience here has been amazing! I believe that A LOT of the negative things that are being said about this school are based on "beliefs " and the past. This school is being stereotyped as poor and low test scores because of the "area". The teachers here have been amazing! I'm glad my kids go to Bob Mathis.

Bob Mathis has shown tremendous improvement under the leadership of Dr. Blackwell & her staff. I take great pride in knowing that my child is learning and being challenged everyday. They always communicate with the parents, keep us abreast of what is going on, and how we can be included in helping our scholars reach their full potential. I highly recommend this school. It's also a plus that they are a smaller elementary school, so it feels like family.

Bob Mathis is a great school. Mrs. Blackwell has made a significant impact to improving the school. The staff is always friendly and helpgul.

I've had one child attend this school and one there now in first grade, and I can say the experience has been positive. The teachers are great, the principal is great. My son, now in his last year in middle school, really enjoyed his teachers and overall had a much better experience here than the school he attended for 2 years in Buckhead. My daughter, currently in the first grade and in her second year, really loves her teachers and is excelling (scoring among the highest in the county in math and reading). I'm not sure how this school is rated so low.

There's very few, if any, positive comments I can make about this school. Hire better staff, especially administration, and once this is done, Im quite certain that this school will change in an astounding way.

My daughter is in the gifted program at Bob Mathis. I think we as parents are always searching for what's best for our children, its only natural; however, many times we don't realize we may already have it. Learning cannot take place where there is chaos. The principal does require order which can be uncomfortable if parents and students are used to having free reign to do as they please. I would rather they separate kids who score significantly higher than the rest on the ITBS as I've noticed a tremendous difference in behavior of Magnet students at Wadsworth. It's not Wadsworth Magnet that makes the kids great. The Magnet qualified children make the school great. The school does maintain that greatness which many schools have a difficult time doing when the children are in classes where behavior problems are an inhibition to learning.

Overall I Believe Bob Mathis is a good school and 1 of the best elementary schools in the area. It's a very clean school and the students seemed be well behaved. The teachers and staff are also very professional. The class sizes are smaller than norm and I always see the principal greeting the parents and ensuring the students are doing what they are supposed do. The teachers are very helpful and show concerns for the students. I can honestly attest to this as I am a parent of a kindergartner who is very involved in my child's education. However, there is always room for improvement. I wish they offered more extra curriculum activities and an after school program. Each person experience can be different. After reading the previous parent comment, I was a little hesitant about this school overall. But, my experience with the school and principal has been the totally opposite. I believe that reviews from parents are very helpful and provides a lot of feedback. But at the end of day, sometimes you have to experience things for yourself. Maybe if there were consistent negative reviews about a particular school, then one should become a little concerned.
