This is a truly hateful and toxic school. I know there are some good teachers and families, but the administration shockingly awful in their approach to handling students and families. I think you would be better off at a DISD school. Don't waste your time or money here.

Here is an honest reviewTeachers are the absolute best. They genuinely care for your kids, they are extremely smart and they truly plan for you child's success.Each child is treated like an individual, if you have learning differences, if you need to advance, your kid's needs are addressed accordingly.The teachers aides are random, they should be vetted better.The parent clicks are real, and if your child isn't in the clicks, they may or may not be invited to outside events.Because there are parent clicks that run up to the front office if you aren't in the clicks, your child will probably not show up in school activity photos.Safety, the officer is extremely qualified to do the best job, however the Priest refuses to put any sort of security fence up where appropriate (he said it's a church so he wants it open), and because it is on the corner of Inwood and the tollway random stuff does happen.

I’ve been at St. Rita since 6th grade. I used to get bullied a lot for my size, however everyone at St. Rita treated me like a brother. The students are really kind and the teachers have really interesting lessons. The school also emphasizes leadership and faith. We have mass usually once or twice a week. The only downside is it is very hard to be popular or hang out with your friends if you don’t live in the neighborhood. Definitely the best private school in Dallas.

As a student at St. Rita currently I feel like we are being overworked and treated like we are going to grow up to work in a factory. The only thing that students do at this school is gossip about others. If you don't live in the neighborhood behind St. Rita you aren't popular and no one wants to talk to you. Constant bad rumors are spread about everyone making them extremely embarrassed. The worst thing about this school is the weird way that the grading system works. The current grading system is A: 94 or higher B: 85 or higher C: 75 or higher D: 70 or higher and anything below a 70 is a F. This is extremely stressful and I wish it didn't exist. The school counselors and deans don't take problems seriously and just suspend you for a day or for something you should be expelled for. Most of the teachers at this school are great except they can have very strict classroom rules. In one of my 60 or 70 minute classes I am not allowed to drink water. This can feel like a punishment at times because it is one of my classes after PE. The only fun grades at this school are fourth grade and below so if you are thinking about sending your child here for fifth grade or above I would recommend not sending your kid here.

Hi! I am a student at St.rita currently. From my experience it has been terrible. They treat kids with autism so differently, I get bullied so much by this kid with autism physchilly and mentally bullied. He throws rocks at me punches me i got me suspended for no reason whatsoever. and you might think "oh well he is just a middle schooler he knows nothing" but I do. even after i got punched and bullied everyday no action whatsoever was done i went to the school counselor every Monday for a year about him. NOTHING WAS DONE. and to this day it happens. Staff is ok.. most teachers are not good but there is 1 very good teacher. Wouldn't recommend. if you love your kids don't send them here...

I have three daughters in this school. And all I can say is I couldn’t be happier. As an IT professional I can say they use state of the art tech to teach. They have an amazing facility (including aquatics). Also they have an amazing leadership and teaching team. It is involved and you will be involved so buckle in. From the Halloween program to Christmas plays to Easter the school does a great job of engaging parents and students Catholic and non Catholic. Parents are great and we have made a few friends through sports and other activities. From a standpoint of academics they are ahead of the curve as I have a sibling and her children are relatively the same ages and in Richardson public schools. Mine run circles around them and others academically. They promote leadership skills and values from the start. I am very impressed. Also father Josh is a married catholic priest and has kids of his own in the school.

St. Rita offers a wonderful Catholic education with great staff and teachers! They go above and beyond to be helpful and welcoming. An awesome community we love being a part of and my children look forward to school!

Interesting how there was a flurry of responses to the negative reviews posted all on one day (april 15, 2015) to counter the thumbs down or unflattering mentions. I've been at the school for more than 15 years straight, both girls and boy children. We've experienced our share of bad teachers, great teachers, bullying, snippiness, class acts, bad bad experiences and decent people. Nothing new in a school and typical of many schools, I suppose. The thing that strikes me more now than ever is how many skills taught have not changed over the years (good and bad), cliques are even worse with the younger classes, and the administration is trying to keep up with the changing mores with not much success. Families coming in are less "catholic", so expectations there are less, but needs are greater for after school care, high achievers and holding parents' hands. If this review doesn't make sense, let me put it this way. After all these years, I'm ready to move my kids to St. Monica or at least home-school them if I can't get them in to St. Monica. I don't see much to promote this school anymore. Teachers promote and give perks (leadership posts) to their fave kids and families. Everyone else is left to fend for themselves. Sorry, can't make the 8k tuition seem relevant for that kind of return.

I have had two kids go through St Rita. I felt the school did a great job preparing my kids for high school and beyond. Most importantly St Rita gave my kids a strong foundation in faith, spirit and community service. Many of the teachers who taught my kids are stil there as well as the principal. I couldn't have asked for a better school.

I am an alumni at SRS. Going into high school, I was very much academically prepared. SRS students scored the highest out of any school on the Grammar Mastery test given at private schools such as Ursuline Academy. Socially, SRS was a great environment. Unlike many other schools, I did not experience bullying, cliques, or much drama in middle school. It was a real safe-haven for me as a student to learn and grow in my faith. SRS's theology program was open and empowering. It allows students to explore their own faith identity. I wouldn't change my Rita experience for anything. As an adult, I keep in contact with MANY of my friends in my graduating class. Rita Forever!

I went to St. Rita from kindergarten to 8th grade and I wouldn't change it for the world. After going from St. Rita to Ursuline, I felt extremely prepared for high school classes, even more than my classmates who had come from different Catholic schools in the area. The community at Saint Rita is very open and the faculty and staff really care about the overall growth of each student. I came out of Saint Rita with very strong faith and great friends who I stayed close with throughout all of high school and still are best friends with in college. The teachers I encountered were extremely helpful and truly cared about their students' success. They were willing to come in early and stay late to make sure that all of their students got the help they needed, and many of the teachers I had are still there today. Saint Rita is one of the best schools in the area and will really help prepare your kids for the next steps of their lives.

I am a proud alumna of St. Rita and spent some of the best 9 years of my life there. The teachers were dedicated to not only my education but also my personal growth. They still remember my name when I see them at church and I am a college student now. I felt more prepared in high school than other students from nearby schools felt. Besides the education, I can honestly say I met my best friends at St. Rita. This school develops a student's leadership , education and Catholic principles. Go Spartans!

I totally agree with the last post. Huge thumbs up to the admin and teachers at St. Rita. It says a lot that all the previous APs at the school are now the head of other schools in the diocese. St Rita is another great school in the Catholic Diocese of Dallas.

I can't believe the negative reviews posted. You have to feel that some people complain to complain. No matter what school some people went to they would complain. Is getting on the internet the way to solve it? No! St. Rita is a great school. The admin and teachers do a wonderful job. We have been very pleased with the education that all of our children have gotten from attending St. Rita. And, we would highly recommend it to our friends. For those who want to post negative reviews, there are other schools out there for you. Maybe you should apply.

Our family has truly enjoyed our experience at St. Rita. We are new to the school but have been welcomed by all the families and the staff. We love both of the teachers we have. We are particularly fond of the administration. They both seem so nice and friendly. Our family is so happy to have found St. Rita and to now be part of such a great community.

I was shocked to see the negative reviews of the school. I'm an alum as well with very fond memories of my 9 years at St Rita, and we just transferred in for the 2014-2015 school year. I think your experience here will be largely based on the makeup of the class. I have found the parents very welcoming and not at all cliquish, at least in our grade. My husband doesn't find the administration overly friendly and there are a lot of rules, but so far nothing that would make us question our decision. My daughter has had a more difficult time making friends than we anticipated as she is very outgoing normally, but we attribute that to the age and adjustment to a new environment. I will say this school seems more focused on academics than the development of the whole child, and that is an area where I think they could make improvement. Overall, we've gotten our monies worth, made some new friends and will be back next year.

I attended St. Rita from K-8th Grade and had a great experience. I made friends that I still have today, and St. Rita set the foundation for my future education. I really enjoyed the staff, many of which are still at the school today, and I had great teachers with whom I still keep in touch. The alumni functions have been great to catch up with old friends and former teachers. I would highly recommend any student attend St. Rita if they want a great Catholic education and positive experience.

They are a great school for sweeping things under the rug. I agree with teaching kids like mindless robots as mentioned below. There is one teacher that has no business being there. This teacher holds a whole different standard. If a child forgets something there is grade reduction, but if the teacher forget to send out important "HOMEWORK" it's ok and the child still suffers on trying to catch up making up the time the teacher slacked off on. The violence here is unexceptable. However the school does nothing to help it being prevented. My child has physically attacked three times this year. To pep your kid for this school I recommend the following. 1. Spoil them rotten so they get bossy 2. Don't teach them morals 3. Don't teach them to keep their hands to themselves Then they should do very well here.

If you want your child to work out of work books all day long. Have your child taught to and disciplined like they are a mindless robots. Have class room sizes greater then 25 students. Oh and when you have problems with the teacher and you confront the school leadership about it and are treated like a moron then SEND YOUR KIDS HERE..... My kids went here for 3 years which was 2 to many. I would rank this school 1 grade better then DISD and that's pushing it. There are so many better private schools in Dallas then this one.
