I am very pleased with this school. My children went to it, now my grandchildren are going there. The staff is very loving, and very nice to everyone. they are very concerned about your child's learning, and want to do the best that they can for your child. they go to any length necessary to see that your child gets the best education possibly. They work clothes with the family to be sure everyone is on board. Can't say enough about teachers, and staff. And my eyes this is the number one elementary School in Lumpkin county. The principal gets very involved with the children and when I say that I mean she is involved in everything their work, their studies, and most of all there well being. And she knows all of her students by name!.Thank you very much longbranch all you do.Dawn shannon

My children have been attending Long Branch for over a year now and it has been an amazing experience. At our last school the staff weren’t very attentive to our needs (autism, anxiety, reading delays) and the overall activities and environment were just okay. LBES has blown us away. They really are a family here. It’s amazing to me how the staff know all the students names, and the changes they made with the COVID funding were improvements that directly impacted the students. Their Harry Potter style house system is also a fantastic way to bring teamwork amongst all grades and gives the children frequent rewards for positive behavior. Most importantly, without me ever saying a word, the teachers here noticed the reading delay issues right away and got my child established in the intervention program. She experienced more than two years worth of reading growth in 9 months. Both my children are excelling at math, and my daughter with autism has really cultivated a love of reading since attending this school, and that was an activity she very much despised in the past. As a side note, it appears that the children here are very accepting of each other. Kids are quirky and they all just deal with it and get over it like respectable humans. I’m very pleased!

Incompetent when it comes to dealing with or teaching special education students. They spent more time blaming the parents and coming up with excuses that something was supposedly happening at home and absolutely NO TIME following the IEP that was sent with the child to school. Changed counties within 1 month of school and have had no problems in new schools. We should have listened to others that told us Lumpkin county schools were HORRIBLE for special education students. It was true.

We are so thankful for LBES. The staff and teachers do a great job of challenging our kids academically while also demonstrating compassion and encouragement to our two children. We are pleased that LBES embraces inclusion classes. For several years my son has had classes with several students with specific learning needs and special physical needs. His teachers and support staff have done an excellent job challenging all the students in his class. He in turn has become apart of a caring group of peers that are empathetic, compassionate and extremely encouraging of one another. The lessons my children are learning at home are reinforced at school. We could not be more pleased by a principal and vice principal that are in touch with the needs of growing children and are on the cutting edge of meeting their individual learning needs. The school is one of the cleanest in the county and has many strengths due to the parent and staff desiring excellence in every area possible.

This school is wonderful. I have two children that attended classes at Long Branch. Both had amazing experiences. The teachers and staff go above and beyond to makes students feel safe. The school offered school activities such as drama club and accelerated reader that helps challenge students daily. The administrative staff is very friendly and thrives on helping students succeed in academics. I am so glad both of my children had such a wonderful experience at this school

Longbranch Elementary Dahlonega, GA Bullying seems to be a very real problem here that is ignored. Bad behavior should be stopped and/or controlled at such a young age. Placed my soon to be 2nd grader in self defense classes this summer. We are ready for the bullies --- Is this the lesson that elementary school kids need to learn first?? Children that are well behaved and respectful should not fear school when they are 7!

I was a student at Long Branch Elementary School years ago. And I have to say, that though I didn't think of it as a kid, I'm glad I went there. The teachers do try their best to help all students learn, and I have met some amazing people amongst the staff. I think it's a very nice school to send kids to.
