My daughter has been attending this school for two years and is thriving! With the exception of a couple teachers she had, they’ve all been great. They engage with the students and seem to genuinely enjoy teaching. My daughter has had no issues with bullying and has a diverse group of friends. They don’t load her with homework and offer advanced courses. This is a stark contrast to the schools she attended south of Atlanta, where fighting, bad behavior, and cell phone usage was a huge issue. The principal does a great job of communicating with parents and the school is overall well organized.

This school really is ignorant, no communication, no respect and no care. They only care about you child being a number.

I have been teaching at WCMS for 6 years now. I must say that this is the best school that I have worked at in 11 years with respect to administration, teachers, support, and students! My very own students are within the White Co school district and I WANT them to attend WCMS. The administration that is in place does a fantastic job, the teachers love their jobs and want students to not only succeed but be better people in respect to how they treat others. I can not imagine working at a different school.

I am horrified to learn about some very negative things happening at this school. Bullying seems to be a problem that's not being handled properly by the principal or the authority in charge. Other students have told me drugs are being sold in the bathroom. Some kids don't even feel safe attending this Middle school which is very unfortunate. I truly hope and pray that someone DOES SOMETHING soon to keep alumni and staff safe!!!!!!!!!! Every school deserves a safe environment.

Having come over after much held completed elementary school at Mossy Creek my feelings were utter shocking disappointment. It seems like the staff just doesn't care. Only thanks to my kid do I know about any of the happenings or projects, teacher work days, etc that are coming up in the near future as you don't get any kind of information sent home. And if you do happen to receive information sent home beware the dates and/or info are probably incorrect. So worried about my kids education. Unfortunately all the elementary schools flood into this one middle school not giving parents much of an option other than home schooling.

I simply don't like the way this school is run. The principal does not listen to parents. She was wrong about a time for an event and went ahead and gave out the wrong info to all the parents. She doesn't allow parents to eat with their child. The elementary schools and high school in this county does allow it. I like to eat with my child to get to know her friends. She made it sound like, that at this age, they are embarrassed of their parents, that's the experience she had. My child is not embarrassed by me. They don't send papers home like the lunch menu. My child said that only she and 3 others don't cuss on the bus. My only other choice would be to home school.

MY CHILD ABSOLUTELY LOVES THIS SCHOOL, IS THRIVING IN THE ENVIRONMENT, AND IS MAKING STRAIGHT A's. THE TEACHERS ARE CARING, HELPFUL, YET QUITE DEMANDING. THE STUDENTS TEND TO BE VERY SUPPORTIVE OF EACH OTHER. JUST AS WITH MOST SCHOOLS, IF A STUDENT IS WELL-BEHAVED, RESPECTFUL, SAYS, "PLEASE" & "THANK YOU," AND IS ATTENTIVE IN CLASS --THEY GENERALLY DO WELL. VERY NICE STUDENTS IN THIS SCHOOL. MR. TURNER IS A GREAT SCHOOL COUNSELOR AND PROVIDES HELPFUL GUIDANCE TO PARENTS AND STUDENTS. THE SECRETARY AT THE FRONT DESK IS NOT ALWAYS TACTFUL, BUT SHE CAN MUTLI-TASK. THE SCHOOL OFFERS MANY FIELD TRIPS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT. MY ONLY REAL COMPLAINT IS THAT I THINK THEY SHOULD MOVE TO REDUCE/ELIMINATE HOMEWORK. WE ARE A LARGE COUNTY WITH ONLY ONE MIDDLE SCHOOL. THE KIDS ARE GONE FROM 6:30-4:30 (INCLUDING BUS RIDE) AND WHAT LITTLE TIME IS LEFT WHEN THEY GET HOME, IS NEEDED FOR DINNER, SHOWER, CHORES, ANY EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND SOME CRITICALLY IMPORTANT FAMILY TIME.

As a parent I'm very disappointed with this school. My 7th grader has yet to have a text book to study at home. Being out of school for nearly twenty years I cannot remember the things I learned in 7th grade science. It is very difficult to help from home. A teacher at the school informed me that no textbooks had been purchased in years because the superintendent doesn't like them. She also pointed out a nearby school that's considering not using text books. But that school is wanting to switch to tablets, not just drop books with no other tool to replace them. At least they don't have one administrator they had last year, who referred to himself in third person! I still can't believe a school system tolerated that. I agree with the other parent who felt some of the adults have a bully type approach. On another sour note, kids in my area catch a bus before 6:30am, and arrive at school fifty minutes before class. I'm sorry to say there isn't really anything I like about the school. My child now hates going.
