Worst school I've had the misfortune of sending my child to. Their phone system is a joke when trying to simply call and inform them my kid is sick. I can't even talk about their decision regarding bus routes without getting extremely upset, and I regret giving them any contact information since they constantly abuse it asking for money or donations. We are leaving this school district as soon as we can.

Since co- vid this school, school-staffs and teachers changed from being involved, interested of student progress. They only have one strategy that get the work done in the paper, it doesn’t matter if student understand the concept.

Lamkin Elementary is a great shool for all kids. I personally really like this school, teachers are very good and helpful. My daughter is really like it also, especially Ms. Rasberry. I give this school 5 stars.

Lamkin has a principal who really cares about the students, and she is a good leader who doesn't waste any resources (either staff or money). I also agree with the review of Hollye Derrick-she is an awesome teacher. This school has a great family atmosphere-you can bring in your preschool age sibling children with no problems when volunteering-other schools in the area do not allow siblings in the school at all! The staff and teachers care about each other and the students-not just their grades but their emotional health as well. The school offers choir, Spanish after school, and a math club for the upper grades. Participation in football and cheerleading is strong here. Cub scouts are a strong presence at the school and they have a great pack! I do wish they offered art club, chess club, or other extracurricular activities. I also wish they had a DI team here. All in all, the school has improved since my children have attended, and the PTO has gotten better and more involved. I think schools in this district are hemmed in somewhat by district policy, and therefore kids who are ahead aren't pushed forward as much as they should be. All in all a good (not great )school.

Our experience with Lamkin is the teaching is subpar, the leadership is disorganized and the academics are very weak. You would do better to homeschool or go private. If you disagree with anything the teachers retaliate. I do not recommend this school to anyone. Its a shame we do not have school choice.

At Lamkin Hollye Derrick is a fun teacher to have your child in. She makes class fun by playing with parachutes to do reading packets, and a shower curtain with hand drawn states on them to throw a little stuffed animal on to see if the students know the states. Also her kids are always smiling in there and she works with each child individually and tries to make school fun. She also plays cool music for the kids while they do there work. She is an amazing teacher and such a fun person all the kids love her and hate to leave at the end of the year.
