My children have attended Vickery Creek Elementary School for the past 6 years. We have had a great experience! All of their teachers have been wonderful and the administrators are supportive and involved. I would recommend this school to anyone!

The school and it's leaders have been more than accommodating and welcoming of my special needs child. When discussing his IEP, the specifically said, "we will meet him where he is." This meant the world to us and they have backed their stance with action and care.

Most teachers are very good. It's a big school with lots to coordinate and they do a good job. They are absolutely ineffective in dealing with bullying, though. They talk a lot about having zero tolerance, but allowed my son to be bullied for 2 years by the same kid. No consequences for the kid except for talking to the counselor sometimes. We ended up directly contacting the bully's parents in order to deal with it.

We have had a great experience so far. We have loved our son’s Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers. The teachers communicate well with parents. My son loves going to school and loves learning. I also like that they have incorporated the 7 habits of effective people into the school.

West Forsyth should be avoided if you want to stay away from folks that just have little respect for people. This area is very selfish and the parents raise their kids to treat people like they are below them. The education is not great, even for a public school in a good county. I hear kids at this elementary talking about pretty bad stuff that kids this age shouldn’t even know. You have been warned.

Just moved to the area and my daughter started 5th grade here. She was very nervous about moving but loves it now. School does a great job with communicating

We built our home in this area so our daughter could attend a great public school. Our daughter started kindergarden so excited and happy and came home in tears. There was an incident that involved bullying and another student being physical with her which the teacher witnessed but had the nerve to say she didn't know who really instigated it. There has been zero communication from the her teacher about anything! Needless to say I am not impressed and sending my daughter to private school. The whole experience was traumatic to my child and a nightmare for my husband and myself. So much for the schools zero tolerance policy on bullying and aggressive behavior!

I have to say, since there has been a shift of the principal a few years ago, things have changed. There aren't any updated photos of the School teams on the walls since he left, there is NEVER a photo in the frames of their awards wall by the principal's office either- just the "teacher of the year" out of 15 frames. Its sad really. Things seem to be not as involved as they were previously. What also is HUGELY concerning is VCE has dropped 10% to an 87% percentile and from five stars to four on school rater for the 2014 year. We moved here for this school, and I am sadden with a not up to par principal that I would consider a different school. I would invite to opportunity for the Assistant principal to step up to her position, he seems much more involved and presents himself much better.

I have had children in this school for 6 years and unfortunately will have them in here for 6 more years. The leadership is horrible, but that is why people work in schools as they don't have to be accountable. Budget for a tutor, you will need one when attending Vickery Creek Elementary. This school is not about education it is the epitome of a jobs program. We need to send "Buster" Evans packing an average of 1680 on the SAT is pathetic for a county with our demographics.

Awsome! I went here for k-4 then had to move. I hated having to move because i love the teachers there are AMAZING!!!!!!! They could get along with everyone. I don`t think anybody didn`t like the teachers.I wish the school was big enough for THE WORLD could go to that elementary school. Best school that ever existed.

We recently moved to this county because of the schools. We are so impressed with the teachers and staff. The school is fantastic! Our daughter looks forward to going to school each day. Her teacher is wonderful.

The school works really hard to match each child with the teacher that will best help them learn and love learning. Even though the school is a lot larger than what we as parents grew up with, there is a small school feel to it. Our children feel very cared for and are known personally. The level of education has been excellent, problems have been addressed and the teachers have made themselves very available to us as parents.

Zero communication? Do these parents actually have children attending VCE? Between the teacher and parent emails and interactions, it has actually been quite the opposite experience for us, bordering on the absurd in the amount of communication. Then again, I've seen countless "helicopter parents" at the school that can't seem to detach from their children and let them learn and become themselves without the parent constantly being in the classroom or demanding more communication. The teachers have been good with honest caring about our children and seeing that they achieve excellent academic progress. As for prior reviews about the content and pacing, the school (and virtually all public schools) basically has the proverbial hands tied behind the back issue. So much of their content is based on state criteria and testing, that there is a huge focus on mandated material and the teachers generally do the same teaching plans throughout the year. I can confirm this as having children the same age in different classes year after year.

We have had students attending VCE for the past 8 years (2003 - 2011). We are so pleased with the care and quality of the staff at this school. We also had bullying issues that were quickly addressed. And our children were given an excellent foundation to start middle school with confidence. And we love the current principal Mr. McAllister.
