Above & beyond great. I’d give 10 starts if I could. This school really feels like family. We are grateful for all they do for the students. Seriously, Star Prep is one of a kind. I wish many more schools would build they’re system upon Star Prep’s model.

STAR Prep's new facility at WLA College is an exciting change for students and will give them the opportunity to move through their educational experience at their own pace.

We have been affiliated with Star Prep Academy since my daughter was in 6th grade at the age of 11 and they have been nothing short of amazing. From the onset, they tailored a curriculum for her that matched her individual needs. They let her take high school and advanced classes from age 11. When she had made it through most of the available coursework they found college courses for her to take. When she made it through that they allowed her to take part-time classes while attending courses elsewhere. Now that she is a 14 year old in college they are helping her fulfill her requirements for an internship. They also readily acknowledge how helpful that will be for her to maintain friendships with people her own age. From Thomas to Tery to Alex and beyond they have been a constant resource for us and keep her close as part of the Star Prep Family. I am truly grateful for everything they have done and continue to do.

This is a the type of school I wished was around when I was going to school. The support, community, and individualized instruction really makes this a wonderful place to learn. Students always seem happy and staff works hard to make learning meaningful.

This is a wonderful, family based community that supports the passions of each and every student.

I am so sad about what this school has become. It used to be a lovely place with a great vision. The diversity is gone, the leadership is gone, the faculty is gone and the heart if gone. I feel bad for those that remain, get out while you can. This is a ship that will never right itself as long as the captain (Executive Director) remains.

Far better than most --especially the dedication of the teachers

Star Prep has generally been a good place for my daughter, who preferred a smaller school for high school. The school is currently trying to find its place since the departure of its long time headmaster. There are very few schools like this in LA-We looked at virtually every independent school in LA. My daughter is currently in 11th grade and will have no issue being accepted to the college of her choice. If you are looking for a good smaller low key school, Star Prep is a good choice.

Excellent. This school changed my son's life from getting into trouble every day (he was so bored in public school) to being challenged and understood. Thank you Katya and the team at Star Prep for giving the gifted kids a change to be who they are and learn the way they are most interested!

My son started STAR Prep this year for 7th grade and is very happy. The classes are very small which allows for in depth discussions and projects. His teachers are very engaged and enthusiastic. There are several interesting elective opportunities. The friends he has made are really nice, smart and funny kids.

A warm school with a strong academic program means students are supported both socially and academically.

My child has transformed over the last three years. His curiosity has been met with answers and more questions to get him to push beyond what he already knows. Zahir Robb is the best leader any school could wish for and teacher Thomas Valencia is fantastic. These are just two highlights from an amazing, caring staff.

Star Prep Academy has really provided a foundation for success for my child. Now that he is in college, I can see the impact the school had on his academic and social development. He is well adjusted and happy with himself and where he is today. I was nervous about having him sent to such a small school, but in the end, the opportunities were amazing for any program, let alone a school of their size. I am so happy we made the choice to send him to Star and wish he had done it sooner.

We are really impressed by what STAR Prep Academy has been able to offer despite its small size. Our daughter has been intellectually stimulated and academically challenged by her coursework, which this year has included Zoology, Philosophy and Creative Writing in addition to English, Algebra and Geography. The teachers, staff and administration are smart, but also kind and caring and go above and beyond to provide an enriching environment for their students. The parents are also very supportive of the school and do a great deal to enhance school offerings. Elementary school parents interested in a small and creative learning environment for their middle schoolers should definitely check it out.

STAR Prep Academy works hard to create an environment that is welcoming, supportive and engaging. To see what the kids produce on a daily basis is a wonderful experience. I can't think of another small school that provides the opportunities that STAR Prep Academy does.

As a teacher within STAR Prep Academy I am constantly surprised by the wealth of opportunities provided by our school. I have never been short of support from administration or parents to try out new activities or learning experiences and feel truly supported by the Head of School and other staff. A great place to work and a great place to learn.

I am surpirsed by the last post, but some students haven't succeeded due to discipline and sometimes we don't see the faults in our own children. We are a scholarship family and have been more than happy with the program thus far (3 years). Great personal attention, a lot of activities for such a small school and I only see the future as bright. They are always adding new opportunities and my child has been afforded experiences they never would have received anywhere else. In the first semester they were whale watching, kayaking, volunteering, creating and leanring more than I ever expected. A true gem.

The school is a great concept but the teachers do not treat all of the children the same and has obvious favorites. The small school setting has its pros and cons. If you are lucky enough to afford the school your child will be allowed to do as they please. However scholarship kids are treated second class

Star Prep Academy is like the best school ever much better than my old school. Finally I can go to a school where the teachers care, my peers worry about friendship and work instead of what i have on. At my old school I wasn't challenged enough. The teachers don't just hand you a book and tell you to read the directions, they help you. My teacher care about what going on with me in and out of school. Some people think that because the class size its boring. Its not. Everyone in my school is like one big happy family. Thank You.

STAR Prep Academy is college prep with a heart. This has been a great opportunity not only for our child, but for our family to find a school that provides a curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking balanced with a school community that emphasizes caring. No cramming for tests, late night homework struggles, or fights to go to school. Our son wakes up happy to go to school and can't stop talking about the day when he gets home. At a time when kids and teachings are burning out, STAR Prep Academy's middle and high school in the heart of Culver City is a breath of fresh air.
