My kid was bullied and her front bangs were cut. The principal had a meeting w my kid and bully . The principal applied tactics to say my kid cut own hair and did nothing about it. Keep up the good work Dr Hodge The school gives no homework. You have know idea what they are working on. My kids was so poor in math that needed to take to Mathenisum to be on par w 2nd grade standard math. They teach LBGTQ but they don't tell parents that it's part of curriculum. My child was looking up Rainbow flag online. That's how I found out. A bit much for 2nd graders. We left the school ..don't recommend.

my son attended ER since pre-k all thru 5th grade and my daughter is now in 1st grade here too. we have loved ER from day one the principles Dr. Z (no longer there) and Dr Hodge make it their priority to learn every kid's name. all the teachers and staff are very engaged and attentive. for the most part bullying is nonexistent maybe just a handful of occasions but nothing that couldn't be handled by the principles. if there is bullying witnessed before or after school the parents are a village, so we make sure it stops and doesn't continue. the teachers we have had always let us know if there are any issues with our kids and if they are falling behind and what we can do together to help them catch up.

A hidden gem of the Culver City schools. Best teachers, best principal - Dr. Amy Hodge, fantastic parent group - PTA - that wins national awards, and the wonderful and accepting diversity of families.

I used to go to El Rincon. The teachers are great! They are really nice and care about their students. They make sure that everyone is safe but there is some bullying outside. If the adults see it, they stop it though. I learned so much at my time there. I had a classmate that did not know one word in english and my teacher and all the other teachers were trying their best to welcome them to this country. I had a GREAT time there. My teacher found a way to help her speak english and learn all other studies without stressing her. All the teachers here are great and I LOVED my time here. They have so much for the students and it’s hard to be unoccupied. All the teachers push you, but give you rewards after. It is the best school I could recommend in CCUSD for elementary.

Our family loves El Rincon. Everyone at this school seems delighted to be part of the El Rincon Family. And I mean everyone. The administrators, teachers, support staff, families, children, you name it (them). It’s a happy place. They have done a great job even in the middle of a pandemic. Nothing is perfect right now, but knowing that the people in charge really care for my child is everything to me at this time. They have so much compassion and patience, and they’ve even managed to teach her - through a screen!

We love El Rincon. It’s the best kept secret in Culver City - diversity, academics and kindness. We have it all!

Our experience with this school has been wonderful! We love the focus on STEAM. It suits our child very well. Teachers are fabulous and happy to be there every day. It’s obvious that they really care about our kids.

We love this school and are so glad we made the choice to send our son here. The STEAM program is amazing! The science labs, maker space, robotics club, music and art programs, after school programs, etc... Our son was a beginning reader when he started this year and with guidance of his amazing Kindergarten teacher and reinforcing learning at home, he moved up 3 reading levels in less than 4 months! We recommend this school to anyone who wants to be part of a culturally rich school which is full of diversity and has an amazing STEAM program as well.

I had an older child who attended 10 years ago and we had an amazing principal then. I also currently have a child attending and although we have gone through a couple of different principals, the current one is incredible and has continued an upward trajectory in terms of building a supportive culture and improving learning and test scores.

I'm just so grateful each and every day at drop-off, at pick-up, during my volunteering, every time I get informational messages from teachers that help to keep the year running smoothly and organized. My heart definitely belongs to this school.

Absolutely wonderful. We came to the school because of the diversity. We LOVE the sense of community, the leadership and the teaching staff has been just incredible. More importantly, our kids love it there and love going to school.

We have only been at this school for a few months but it has been an incredible experience! We looked at MANY schools and are 100% confident in our choice of El Rincon. We couldn't be happier with how it's working out and look forward to sending our younger children here in the future.

We have only been here for three years, but are confident our two children will receive, and are receiving, a top-notch education in an extremely diverse and supportive atmosphere. You will be hard pressed to find a better experience at a public school anywhere else in the greater LA area.

I have two children at El Rincon, and my eldest, who is now in 3rd grade, has been there since TK. Every single one of my childrens' teachers has been completely wonderful. Loving, thoughtful, dedicated and committed to helping each student achieve his or her personal best. Our students are also outstanding; I've never seen a school community where the kids care and support each other the way they do at El Rincon. Now that we have Dr. Ziskind as principal, our school has every piece of the puzzle needed to shine.

This is the best up and coming school in Culver City!! This school is an old new gem to Culver City, more and more parents are asking to be transferred to this school. Our current principal Dr. Cassandra is the best, loves what she does, get parents in involved on a weekly basis. This school is the the 2nd school in the U.S to have the NASA program! This school focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math which is the way of the future. They have an organic garden which all students go and help out making them aware of all different veggies. This is my son second year and was scheduled to go to El Marino for the spanish immersion but after his first year with Ms. Mergian, and school staff we decided with no hesitation to stay at El Rincon. Language is only going to get you so far in life... but El Rincon has after school programs (paid programs) for spanish. Farragut lack the diversity which is imperative living in Los Angeles. My son at Tk, learned Coding... yes coding (I don't even know coding), alphabet, writing, counting to 100, read, respect, self empowerment, and creativity. Teachers make is easy to communicate with them through an App or in person. I can go on and on about how great this school is!

El Rincon is an AMAZING SCHOOL. I feel so lucky to have found it. We transferred in from a rated 10 school, and I admit that I was nervous based upon the greatschool.org rating. I did my due diligence, attended all the neighborhood school tours, and was delighted to discover that El Rincon was our absolute first choice. Principal Cassandra Ziskind is an incredible, caring administrator who gave my daughter the personal attention she needed for class placement. She holds monthly Coffee With the Principal chats with parents, and is very involved with the fantastic PTA members. The campus itself is gorgeous, beautiful classrooms, fresh paint, the nicest playground I've ever seen at a school, and wet & dry science labs. They are a fully functioning STEAM school that offers so so much to its children. I also love the DIVERSITY of this school! We have loved the parents, children and teachers who make this wonderful school an absolute hidden gem in Culver City which is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Our child has received more resources here than she did at her rated 10 school, and her teacher has taken great care to make her transition as smooth as possible. We cannot be happier. Now, it seems like people are finally catching on to how exceptional El Rincon actually is, and in 2017 it was #1 in enrollment for Culver City. Many families do permit in from other parts of Los Angeles, but there is a strong sense of community here, and I have consistently been blown away by the kindness, attentiveness, unpretentiousness, and spirit of this school. We feel extremely lucky that we found a home at El Rincon, and although I can't speak to previous years, it absolutely does not deserve this low rating. Based on our personal experience - and yes, we are extremely picky parents who only want the best for our child- we give it a 10++++++ ! I know that it's only going to expand and get better, and can't wait to see what else is in store.

El Rincon Elementary is a wonderful school. Every teacher my son has had so far has been caring and thorough. They are a STEAM school and really working to expand and emphasize their science programs. They have a thriving school garden and garden curriculum. They have a new after school spanish immersion program, so that made me feel better about my inability to get my son into one of the language schools.
