The stuff who worked there is not integrity. Unbelievable. I be there may times to check everything is ok for my children to study there. The stuff who help me also tell me that my children can go to school in may. The school finish in June. Because I tell them my children will be American at the end of April. I told her I want my children start on next semester which is in August. Until the end of July I didn’t received any messages from the school. So I send them emails. They told me that they can’t let my children study there. It’s ok to refuse my children to study there. But why don’t tell me at the beginning or early. So I can have enough time to look for another school. Right now they make me no choice. It’s very no nice.

I would give it all 5 stars as I had to make a difficult decision in leaving our former school which is private. Our family had no experience with public schools so this was very difficult. We had the staff and principal help us through the process. They were not over accommodating but were very professional and encouraging. We felt at ease after just a couple of weeks and feel like home now. My daughter is offered much more than the private school was offering. A great school with STEAM geared curriculum, the arts, music and good values that include everyone. Could not be happier with Barranca.

Half of the secretarial staff is incompetent and poorly mannered with parents both in my experience and observance of others. Not well working with children who are not at their standard.

10, definitely. I can't say that we've had any issues outside of the normal kids misunderstandings and tiff's, and those have been handled really well. I'm really glad we made the switch, (coming from a different school within the same district) our daughter has thrived upon coming to Barranca.

Teachers are awesome, the staff is awesome, everyone is caring and really care for the children. Shout out to Mrs. Dahl, Cerjak, Plante, I have never seen teachers who care so much about their children and help bring out their character development.

We have been thrilled with Barranca and the superb staff there since our daughter started T-K years ago. We love the school and the values they teach as well as the strong push for teaching our kids coding.

Barranca Broncos Rock! Barranca is a fantastic magnet school where kids have opportunities that quite a few elementary schools do not offer. The staff, from Principal to Teachers to Janitors are so friendly and really there for your kids. The Principal, Mrs. Sheehan, is actively involved and always making campus improvements. The school does try its hardest to push your kids to their potential. The curriculum is rigorous and the school integrates technology as a tool where students have Chromebooks to take home to use as a resource for their learning. Barranca has an awesome PTA and I am happy to have my four children at Barranca. I am very pleased with my children’s experience at this school; the teachers are very caring and loving. One of my kids performs above grade-level in several subjects, the other three have made leaps and bounds academically. I know that they are in a safe environment where the teachers actually care about students. Our children's success is a team effort. Shout out to Mrs. Plante, one of the best teachers at Barranca! She rocks!

After the unprofessionalism and disrespect I received directly from the school principal, Kim Sheehan, I felt I had no choice, but to pull both my daughters out from that school. Besides arguing with me and speaking to me in a belittling manner in front of many others, including staff, other parents and many children, my own daughters included, Principal Sheehan decided to take things even further! After a while of Sheehan's rude boorish behavior, I decided I had had enough, so I decided it was time to walk away, so I turned to my daughters and said to them, "let's go girls" and began walking towards the exit, that is when Principal Sheehan, decided she would physically block my oldest daughter from passing through, by putting her hand and arm across her chest. She then insisted in continuing the argument with me. I was shocked! I asked her to get her hand off my daughter, but instead she begins to pull the laptop bag off from around my daughter's neck and shoulder. I could not believe it!! My daughter began to cry! But she did not seem to care at all. In fact she wasn't done yet! Sheehan, then grabed my second daughter by the wrist and did the same to her!! After she physically removed the bags from them, both my daughters were crying. All of this was over some forms that she insisted I updated immediately. She threatened my daughters would not be allowed back into the school if I did not do as she demanded. We are new to the Covina school district. Never had I ever experienced anything such as this! What a way of making us feel welcomed. Kim crossed the line! Not only was I treated with disrespect, but both my daughters as well, by non other than the very own school principal, Kim Sheehan. Someone in that position who represents an entire school should conduct themselves and behave as a role model for everyone there, especially the children! Principal Sheehan, demonstrated how little she cares about the feelings of parents and sadly, even the children. Sheehan, is unethical, and I do not doubt her to be prejudice as well. Clearly, she lacks in the skills necessary in accordance to her role and is not fit for the position as a principal. It was such a horrid experience for my daughters, Emery, Eleny and myself!

I have to say some of the teachers are great. Ms. Dahl is the best kindergarten teacher I have known. But when it comes to the principal I sure wish the district could find a better person. She needs to learn how to be polite , not only to students but parents. My personal opinion is that this principal only cares about getting the funding for school.
