This is a wonderful neighborhood school. I don’t know why it is ranked 5 / 10 stars but don’t let that deter you. A school is more than a test score. It is clean, well kept and in a nice area. This district is working hard toimprove their schools. I’d recommend checking it out!

My overall experience at Badillo has been great. Between my theee kids, I have been a parent here for the last 11 years and have never had an issue with the academics, teachers or administration. The teachers are very engaged with their students.

Whether it’s sharing a book with their parent, taking an AR quiz, or logging some iReady minutes, Charter Oak students know that Family Literacy Night is about so much more than reading. The libraries at Badillo, Washington, and Willow Elementary Schools are open after-hours one day each week for students, their parents, and siblings to get to know the school and the library. Attendance has been good, as students recognize the opportunity to also get computer access for Accelerated Reader quizzes or to work on some online lessons through iReady. If you’re going to Washington Elementary, where Literacy Nights have been a tradition for 15 years, get there early! They average 40 parent sign-ins each night, and most families bring more than one child, since it’s a great way for younger siblings and future students to get to know the school and see what a welcoming place the library can be!Cedargrove Elementary hosts six Family Nights, which include Family Reading, Family Math, Young Authors, Science Convention, Patriotic Night, and Pumpkin/Bat Night (1st grade), Native American Night (3rd grade), and AVID Night (gr. 4-6).Glen Oak also hosts regular Family Nights with the PTA, which include a Book Fair, a Health Fair, and a Movie Night, as well as weekly literacy and technology programs, and a Family Science Night. At Badillo, in addition to the weekly Literacy Nights, you can join a Family Reading Night, a Family Math Night, or one of their Family child/parent nights, like the sweetheart dance and a barbecue. Look for Family AVID nights at all schools, too.Come to a Family Literacy Night at Badillo on Tuesdays from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.; at Willow on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.; or at Washington on Thursdays from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Check the Cedargrove and Glen Oak school calendars to plan your next family outing. You don’t have to have a student at that campus – all are welcome!

I have been very happy with my children's experiences at Badillo. I would recommend it to other parents. It is a small school where everyone knows everyone, but it is a great school.

Both of my kids have attended Badillo Elementary since Kindergarten. We have had such positive experiences and great relationships with the teachers and they have always been easily accessible. I love the Remind app they have so that teachers can easily send out notices to your cel phones.

My two kids are new to the district and Badillo Elm. They absolutely love this school. It's a bit discouraging to see the rating as I have nothing negative to say about the academic standards. The staff and principal also do a lot to make sure parents are well informed of daily activities. I have a third child starting in 2019.

Two of our kids attend Badillo and it has been mostly great. They promote literacy by having weekly reading nights. Badillo have many school functions to try to have families be more involved and encourage the kids to do well in school. We feel the teachers genuinely care about the students and their success. One major issue that can not be overlooked is the rating the shows on this site. 5 out of 10 is even close to average. The principal and the administration needs to set their priorities and reevaluate their approach. Although the ratings does not tell the whole picture of how the school doing, it serves as a benchmark against other schools. It is a direct reflection on the school, the staff, the students and their families.

We love this school! The teachers and staff are a truly caring, dedicated bunch. They spend so much of their time to make this an amazing school. Each year they have student plays, a talent show, a harvest festival, family math nights, family reading nights, and the list goes on. It feels like a small town community school, where the teachers and administration still care about you and your child's school experience. I would recommend this school to everyone!

Badillo Elementary School is going AVID, that’s Advancement Via Individual Determination. All teachers, Kindergarten through sixth grade, have attended training and are enthusiastically implementing AVID strategies in their classrooms. Walking through rooms one will see many examples of AVID systems at work. Students taking two and three column notes, setting SMART goals, creating artwork showing “Successful Students,” using organizational tools that encourage them to be accountable and responsible, like agendas, subject notebooks, backpacks, and book bags, and lots of collaborative leaning.AVID’s mission is “to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.” Badillo is working collaboratively to cultivate intrinsic motivation by creating a vision of academic success. Getting Badillo students, even at the kinder level, talking about where they want to go to college is a big focus at our school. Classrooms have adopted a college and use that as an overall theme in their rooms. Our slogan, “Badillo Knowledge will get you College,” is visible throughout our campus. With a purpose to provide all our students with fundamental skills to promote academic success, self-efficacy, and self-advocacy, all Badillo students are on their way to becoming successful, life-long learners and, eventually, college graduates!

We have had great experience with teachers and staff. Any issues get addressed. School has great activities/events and involes families. Would like to see a gardening club and more awards given out to recognize students more.
