The school system prioritizes funding over student well-being. The school's negligence in addressing my child's repeated bullying and physical assaults is appalling. Despite my child's attempts to report the incidents, the school dismissed her concerns and failed to inform me. This lack of care and accountability is unacceptable.

my friend was bullied by the principal they got tripped and ended up in the hospital with deadly injuries. The teachers are the real bullies.

My son said he doesn’t learn anything. He said the Teachers are on their phone and using profanity in the classrooms. He’s not getting a real education but they are quick to give your child a failing grade. On one occasion my child said he was given a bad grade on assignment simply because the teacher didn’t want to read his handwriting. Completely ridiculous and unethical. Just a bunch of childish adults there for a paycheck. My son will not be returning to that sham of a school.

ex-student, terrible experience unprofessional teachers, abhorrently unsanitary, not one desk doesnt have gum under it’s tables. The only thing decent about this was maybe making friends but the teacher would tell us to shut up anyways.even though I always made 90% or above im still glad i switched schools

I hate that most of the teaching staff are focused on bullying the children instead of teaching them.

This is my child's first year in middle school. (6th grade) My child has had 3 math teachers this year and has made his first "c" on his report card. My child has expressed frustration in his math class because he feels he isn't learning anything. When he raises his hand to ask a question, he is told to put his hand down. He says the teacher seems frustrated when the students have questions. The teacher accuses the students of not listening, but its not that they don't listen, it's because they don't understand and are made to feel uncomfortable when they want to ask questions. The staff there seems to be more inclined to discipline the students rather than teach. If there are a few bad apples, all are punished. My son was suppose to go to Shadowlawn, but districts have been shattered and students are suffering from this new lack of concern and teaching methods that have been instilled. I would not recommend Dexter Middle and if there is no improvement, my child will be removed. My negative experience has been with administration and 6th grade math. No offense to other staff members at Dexter Middle.

HORRIBLE!! Staff is extremely rude!!! The corridor's are painted with two tone gray paint. DEPRESSING!! There are no decals or decorations at all. I would be miserable if I had to attend this school, I feel for my children. They will not be back next year,

I have a daughter currently attending and she has stated that she feels she isn't learning anything. For half of the school year there has not been a science teacher. I have complained to the interim principal with no solutions. The staff seem to be more concerned with discipline rather than teaching. The staff and administration are rude and unconcerned with any complaint you bring to their attention. I did have to go the board to resolve a bullying issue with my child. I highly recommend seeking other schools for your children. This particular school needs an overhaul from top to bottom. I refuse to give the rating even one star.

The seventh grade language arts teacher, the seventh grade science teacher, and a substitute teacher during the science teacher's maternity leave, are three of the meanest and unprofessional teachers I have ever met in my life. Under the direction of the current principal, they are blatantly failing my daughter, which up until this year had a 3.0 GPA. I think teachers and administrators like this should be run out of town. The principal will not return emails. Parents have little or no say to what happens at this school. If you have an alternative school that you can send your child, please do so. Under no circumstances should your child attend Dexter Middle School under the current administration.
