I attended CCS 2005-2011 (7th-12th grade). This school is isolating if you’re not 100% onboard with their brand of Christianity. Most of the staff care more about nitpicking your personal life as opposed to actually educating students.When I attended Liberty University, I had to take multiple remedial classes to catch up from the lack of education provided by CCS.The staff retention at this school is rife with nepotism. Most of the current young teachers are former students and the older teachers used to be parents of students. It’s clear that CCS will only hire staff that form to the small sect that they’ve created for themselves.If CCS had more facilities, students, extracurriculars, and focus on education, I think it would be a fine/safe school to trust with your children.

We Love Covenant Christian School. We love the teachers and the staff. My children will be prepared academically and spiritually. We have been at CCS for 4 years now and will continue to be part of the CCS family.

Great school! Students are more than prepared for college academically and spiritually. The school's faculty, administrators, and staff are 100% dedicated to strong academics with a biblical world-view. Covenant is the BEST investment we will make over our lifetime. We are very grateful for Covenant!

The school provides a good education and most teachers are high quality. The spiritual and character emphasis have improved in recent years. There is sometimes a double standard in how they apply rules (i.e dress code enforced for some, not others; making a big deal about coats needing to be a solid color but teachers wearing multi colored coats, etc. The kids come home and easily point out what they perceive is unequal application of some rules.) There is one area that potential families should definitely be aware of. If you plan on having multiple students enrolled, you will really feel the pain of increased tuition ever year. They do offer a discount if you have 3 or more children enrolled- a 20% discount on the most expensive child's tuition. However, the school has been unapologetically increasing tuition apx 5% year over year. You will also be solicited heavily to give sacrificially for multiple fund raisers throughout the year. (Heavy guilt tactics that your students teacher won't get extra funds unless every student participates) The tuition fee is tiered so as your students get older, every 2 years or so, their base tuition rate is higher. If you have multiple children, you may discover that the increase, which is outpacing inflation, becomes unsustainable. The school didn't slow down the increase any during the recession. For example, with four kids enrolled, the tuition increase each year is currently $500+ per kid, or $2,000 for the family. If your kid is "leveling up" into middle school or high school, that number bumps up higher. In less than five years time you could easily find yourself paying more than $10,000-$15,000 more a year in tuition then when you started just five years prior. For families already working two jobs to provide a Christian education for their kids, they may find themselves gradually priced right out the door. The school does pressure families to just suck it up and sacrifice. Some families (even those making good incomes who wouldn't qualify for aid) may find it impossible to sustain. The school is located in a relatively affluent community and enrollment is higher than ever. The school can increase tuition and still draw in the numbers. I would not expect the students numbers to decrease. But the DNA of the school will change as some larger families have to move on to more affordable alternatives.

My son started at Covenant Christian when he was a freshman, and will be starting his junior year next year. I feel so blessed that we have been given the opportunity for him to attend school here. The staff, the teachers and the students were so welcoming when he started school here and made transitioning into another school a lot easier. In the time that my son has been here I have seen my son not only grow as a student, but grow in his faith. I am thankful everyday that he has been given the opportunity to attend school here and would highly recommend this school.

We moved our children to Covenant Christian School two years ago from another private, Christian school in The Woodlands area, and we have been absolutely thrilled with our experience here. Like most parents who choose a Christian school, we were primarily looking for a combination of strong academics and a Christian worldview, and Covenant has certainly exceeded our expectations in both these areas. But what has really set Covenant apart and made an enormous impression on our whole family has been the warmth and humility of the families and students we've met here. Our oldest child was in ninth grade when he started at Covenant, and he was a little nervous about transitioning into a new school as a freshman, but to our delight, the upper school students from 9th through 12th grade were absolutely awesome in welcoming him and making him feel like part of the family. There seems to be a really solid, core group of juniors and seniors that exhibit Christ-like leadership, and the impact clearly ripples throughout the younger grades at the school. This summer Covenant hired a new Head Administrator with 35 years of experience in Christian education. In addition to being a highly-skilled educator and administrator, he has a sincere passion for helping students strengthen their faith and grow in their knowledge of Bible doctrine. Covenant has proven to us to be a warm and friendly school that values excellence in academics, excellence in fine arts and athletics, and excellence in Christian discipleship.

This school has a great spiritual focus and solid academics. Both of our sons graduated from Covenant after beginning in mid-elementary. Graduating seniors routinely get accepted into top colleges and many also receive scholarship offers. I like the way Covenant keeps an appropriate balance among academics, arts, athletics and other extracurricular activities. I also like the opportunities for all of the age groups to interact from pre-K all the way through high school. The families are very involved and the kids develop close relationships. Covenant is an excellent option for all grade levels.

I spent 10 years at Covenant and never once regretted my decision to stay there. I love this school very dearly and treasure every memory close to my heart. As with every school, this one has its faults; some of those need to be talked about and solutions need to be found. The academics were challenging. I have talked to numerous alumni who said they were more prepared for college than half the people in their classes. The sports were amazing. I was not blessed with being tall or even skilled at a sport. The coaches and other players helped grow me into becoming a good athlete; I even started every sport I played this last year. I was also named second team all district for all those sports and that would not have happened without the growth I experienced with my teammates and coaches. Covenant has a great fine arts program, too. We put on a play at the Crighton Theater in downtown Conroe when I was a junior. Our choir always went to state competition and we sang in Carnegie Hall in New York City twice. The only thing I would complain about is the leadership, not with the administration but with the students. That falls on the senior boys and older guys. Covenant just hasn't had good senior guys leadership in a while. But i can see were they are growing. More and more teachers are realizing this and trying to help the subject. Other than student leadership, there isn't much wrong with Covenant. Every year as I got older I could feel each class get more and more spiritually mature. So the people writing that this is not a Christian school are wrong. In elementary you start out with the basics like the stories of the Bible. As you continue you develop your own faith, what you really believe, and it strengthens your faith as you move on from Covenant. I had senior Bible this year and it was by far the best class I have ever taken. It was a very deep class and made you question what you believe and why you believe it. On top of that, we always started off the class with a question: "How did you see God yesterday working in your life?" It is amazing to think about that concept because you never really can tell how God is working until you look back at it and see. This class and all of Covenant has deepened my faith and made me draw closer with God. I feel like the other Bible classes are moving to this style. Please just come see for yourself.

WARNING to parents serious about a high school student's education or emotional state. We homeschooled our two daughters prior to entry at this school. Our two other children both attend Ivy League universities, so we are very serious about education. The girls began school here for socialization, & expected the academics would be better than those in a public school. We were mistaken. Academics are sub-par. Our girls attended for a short time before we decided it wasn't worth it, during which, among other things, they helped teach other students in class, answered teachers' questions regarding why answer books gave certain answers, & were asked to not read larger books because it upset the other students not reading at the same level. No one was well-read. One English teacher did not even recognize the name of Dostoevsky! The Spanish teacher couldn't speak Spanish. I wish I'd tried to find out how they choose teachers.Christian community? Not here. Several kids were caught using the grounds for unacceptable activities. Bible class often consists of a teacher claiming their un-studied interpretation is the only correct understanding of God's Word. Additionally, as other posts note, the students, at least in high school grades, are very nasty, mean, and rude, especially to new students, but also to one another and even to adults outside of class -- not prime examples of Christianity. Bullying is out of control in the class, & when approached for help the teachers refuse. The principal & head of school claim this is not normal behavior here, but it is. We informed them we were approached by several different parents whose students were also bullied, some in past years, others still experiencing it. We also told them that we knew a few students had come forth and admitted to participating in the bullying, & that our older daughter had received a text from one of the students who was complicit in bullying. (It was after reading that text that my husband & I realized what our daughter had suffered through each day. She met each day with prayer & hope, only to be thrust into a situation, with teachers watching, where the whole grade level participated in a concerted effort to bully her. It was grotesque.)Almost out of space: If you care about your child, BEWARE. This is NOT a school where others matter, Christ is represented, or academics are important.

It has taken me a few years to write this review, but I feel now the Lord is directing me to do so. I truly could not recommend this school to anyone. There are many of the negative reviews I agree with and just a few I do not. There is a same common factor with the negative reviews. On the sports, I would not say that Covenant has a strong athletic program at all, but if your child is not athletic they can still participate in the sports, which was a blessing to us.

I attended Covenant Kindergarten through 12th grade. I never wanted to leave to attend another school. CCS was my home away from home. It was a place of fellowship and friendship. We took pride in everything we did. I have awesome memories from my years at Covenant that I will cherish forever. I was challenged academically and still graduated with honors. If I was struggling, teachers would help me. Not because of the obligation, but they truly wanted to see their students succeed. I was told by many of my college classmates who attended public school that they had no idea college was going to be as difficult as it is. I had know idea what they were talking about because I felt and still feel that I was prepared in many different areas. As for my faith, Covenant helped grow my walk with God on a DAILY basis. A Biblical foundation was always incorporated into the curriculum, and we had Bible class each day. Sure, there are a few negatives AS WITH ANY school, church, business, family, friendship, ANYTHING because we are not perfect, ONLY God is perfect. However, to me, the positives outweigh the negatives by far!

My family and I moved to the Houston suburbs from Michigan 3 years ago and visited about 5 private schools in the area. Covenant Christian made a very positive impression on us above all the others. Our choice was clear. Our 2 teenage girls were very apprehensive about starting a new school and made it known to us, but about 4 weeks into enrolling at CCS they expressed joy and gratitude about their new school. Our 2 teenage girls have integrated very well into Covenant. This school has a very strong academic foundation as well as great Biblical teachings. Our girls are both on honor roll and are involved in various sports, Key Club (a student volunteer organization), Bible Study groups, National Honor Society and other extra curricular activities CCS has to offer. We are thrilled to see how well they have been accepted and welcomed into the Covenant family as we all now refer to the families here. We have become great friends with many of the parents of our daughters' classmates. My husband and I are thankful to God for leading us here. Having our daughters attend Covenant has been a very worthwhile investment that is already reaping many rewards for our entire family.

Covenant Christian School was my home away from home. I attended from kindergarten all the way to graduation and couldn't ask for a better environment to spend 90% of my time in. Just like all families, not everyone agrees with one another but I felt like, no matter what differences there were, the coaches, the staff, and the teachers always encouraged and supported each student to do the right thing. I loved participating in athletics every season and even more extra curricular activities to fill up my time and stay involved. This helped me develop true friendships and fun memories I will never forget. Any day that I struggled with understanding course work, all of the teachers welcomed me with open arms to help out and never gave up, no matter how long it took. The biblical foundation that was laid for me has provided me with discipline to keep a strong head on my shoulders throughout college and will continue to do so in the next chapter of my life. I encourage all to enroll at CCS if they are looking for a great environment to surround their child with and a strong foundation that will help them carry out their faith for many years to come.

The bullying is absolutely horrible. I attended 13 years and hated every second of it. The joke was always to see which new student would drop out first. Teachers/ admin don't do a thing about it and if you have a problem, tough luck. The admin basically tell you to figure it out on your own. I witnessed an autistic kid in my class cry numerous times during lunch because of the mean things said and done to him. Cliques form in early elementary and continue into highschool as lifelong students are forced to attend by their parents. As a result, no one has a heart for Christ and parties, sexual jokes, drinking, cursing and bad music run rampant. Their is absolutely no room for new students to fit in and I have witnessed first hand multiple students leaving after only one semester. The curriculum was a joke. Not challenging at all, I can't remember ever having homework during highschool. Although we did have a Bible class, no one was intersted in what was being taught. Noone in my class (including teachers) was Christlike. Seems more like a country club than a school as only the upperclass attend. Very dissapointed with Covenant "Christian" School. Bad things go on behind closed doors

Went into 10th grade and was super excited about going to a Christian school. I was going to learn alot about God, I was going to be welcome to many sports, I would meet some new friends, I'd do well academically. I did very well academically, the school's ciriculumn is horrible, easy, and science is totally biased. Besides learning a lot about God, the kids in my class (12 total not including me, 8 of which are girls) were very rude. They do not welcome new students and completely ignored me. I also remember being told how a student before me had been bullied out of school. Most students there do very badly academically as well, the average score is probably 70 with many failing scores and low B's. I dont know how they pass. Sports are great, and while people are accepted into a team upon request, the people aren't always as accepting as the policy. I was doing basketball for the first time in my life, and everyone-including the coach-knew that. I came out the gym in tears.Look, just dont make the same mistake I did, especially if you have a child who is looking for friends and a place to fit in this place is definitely NOT the place. Be careful when checking out any school.

We drew a bad card on teachers at the public elementary school. I knew my daughter was a little spoiled but not special ed like the public school teacher told me late in the fall 2013. I quickly started doing more hours of homework with her, bought my own books form the teacher's store (I had a hard time figuring out what were the assignments going to be at the public school, they just would send 1 sheet at a time and give me a website that never worked). I knew I had to make a move. I interviewed several private schools & Covenant effectively communicated what exactly she needed to be studying. I did lot of homework even still but it was not just me alone anymore. The teacher taught her way more than I did. When you hear your child say something learned at school with enthusiasm, you know good things are happening. When we got the results on the Terra Nova test at the end of 1 semester with Covenant. Our child was at the top in the national standings and even higher on math and science. There is a lot of bible and prayer but it does not interfere with the core academics. In fact (as it proved in my childs case) it improves academics substantially.

I'm very sorry but the vast majority of people associated with this school are not living for Jesus Christ. My child graduated with a broken heart. Most kids only attend for the sports program. This school is probably 95% upper middle class, Caucasian, Baptist kids with many only attending due to parents' pressure to keep away from public education. This is the real truth. Many leaders and teachers favor their own children and the cliques are absolutely real and devastating to new students. I question the motive of the hearts associated with this school. Our family loves The Lord and we were left feeling very alone and hurt. We have moved on but I had to share the truth. You've been warned. There's a reason why the school has barely grown in the last decade or so. New buildings are the last thing they need. They all need to examine their hearts and motives. Please pray for CCS. Pray for God's help.
