My two grandchildren graduated from Watterson during the past 3 years & I am very pleased with the education they received. One is now a 4.0 GPA senior in college (pre-med), and the other is now taking a gap year before starting college next fall. They were both hardworkers - because that is what is required to obtain a good education. Teachers cannot just spoon feed students. The students have to work for it. Highly recommend this school for students who want an education that will prepare them well for college.

In my humble opinion I think that Bishop Watterson is on a severe decline. This school is not a prestigious or good school rather the students are just smart. The education is mid-low tier and you could get it at any other public school for free. The school prevents students from accessing youtube and other activities even during study halls. They require a strict uniform policy as well as a strict hair length policy for boy's. Do not send you children to this school unless you want to waste thousands of dollars for an average education that you could get at any other public school.

My daughter loves BWHS. After leaving a high ranking suburban district in MS for private HS, she could not be happier with her decision. Academic requirements have have gone up steeply from public school, but so have teacher supports. Students are held to a much higher behavioral standard and show much more respect for one another and their environment. Safety is no longer an everyday concern, bullying is taken seriously and students focus on education.

Teachers are not particularly engaged to help students when they need after school help. They push students to be independent and not seek additional help from the teachers which is disappointing. The Principal is reasonable but relies in the leadership of the Assistant Academic Vice Principal who narrow-minded and dogmatic. She is not an asset to this school.

A great learning environment in the tradition of Catholic education. Myself and 10 siblings, wife and 3 daughters are all graduates of Bishop Watterson

Bishop Watterson builds lifelong relationships that continue over generations of alumni. The teachers and staff truly care about your future, and the opportunity provided at the school is second to none. I am grateful for the opportunity I received going to Watterson.

Everyone is very nice here, but intellectual curiosity is not encouraged. Rather, we are asked to conform and not ask too many questions. Not a good place for the arts and humanities.
