The teachers, students, and parents of Wesley Heights are simply the best. Teachers care deeply about the emotional and academic growth of their students. Kids are engaged in learning and rewarded for good behavior.

I love Wesley Heights, all of my children attend/attended this school. One of my sons who is in the 7th grade was tested into the Magnet program. My other son who still attends was excepted into the magnet for his 6th grade year of middle school next year. Even though I've had my ups and downs, I will say that the teachers and Dr. Evans are on the same sheet of music. Dr. Evans tried to do a lot of things for the school like introducing more fine arts type of activities to the scholars. The school held a Career Day program where the school had people come in from the local Humane society and other local business to talk to the kids about what they do. They also have a wonderful dance team and a new Music teacher and Art teacher this year that put on a show to showcase the kids art and musical talents. My daughter is currently in third grade here and has been struggling but the teachers communicate to me all the issues she has (most out of their control) and try to meet up with me as soon/frequent as possible to help her succeed. I notice new teachers coming around and they seem to really care about the scholars success as much as the veteran teachers at the school. As a parent I don't rely on the teachers to do everything with my children I do a lot of extra work with them outside of school mostly because they cant be expected to home train or teach them everything. I do feel like my boys came a long way and a big part of their success came from the support I was given from the Wesley Heights staff. Its been an 8 year journey and its still not over yet but I can honestly say am absolutely satisfied.

Wesley Heights is a diamond in the rough. I am very pleased with the teachers and staff at WHES. My son s teacher is truly the best and I am grateful for her dedication and love she has for her students. Mrs. Prins is the best!!! My daughter had some awesome teachers as well. I can honestly say both of my kids worked hard this year and it shows in their work and test scores. I think no matter what school your child attends, it's up to the parents to help their child be successful. After all learning starts at home!!!!

Wesley Heights has gone down the drain. Good teachers are leaving left and right. The prinicipal always has her door shut. Also the paint job that was done is horrid. If the principal would quit worrying about the beautification of the school and worry about discipline and testing this school would have hope. Way to go MCSD great job on keeping an eye on these schools. Cant wait until you close this failing school.

Absolutely fabulous! Dr. Evans is one of the most fantastic educators in the city of Columbus. She is clearly interested in, not only the children's educational growth, but also in their emotional spirit. She is the heart in Wesley Height, which makes her a wonderful principal, and consequently, Wesley Heights, a great school!

I feel that Wesley Heights is less than satisfactory. My children are assigned to this school due to our location and I really wish we would of had more time to find a location to move to when we found out we were being relocated to this part of GA (military PCS). My kids did have wonderful teachers at this school last year my issues are really more with the managerial aspect of the school. The principal and the office staff. I have big issues when it comes to discipline and disruptions in school, obviously I can only control how my own children behave in school but there is not much done here at Wesley Heights to protect the children who do behave at school from missing out due to disruptive behaviors. My children's teachers often told me that much time was lost in the classroom due to having to place learning on hold to "take care of disruptive children". I often went to the school to volunteer and help out when and where I would and I saw first hand the children who act out and disrupt class. Nothing is done to stop the behavior and it seems as if the lack of parental support at the school has a negative effect on the disciplinary issues during school hours.

WHES is an exemplar establishment. As I enter this institution of learning, creativity oozes in the hallways! If you want to send your child to a school of learning and growing, look no more. Wesley Heights Elementary School is an amazing place. My child comes home every afternoon excited to do her homework so she can return to her favorite place, besides home;). Literacy is an essential initiative and this establishment of this fact is on the ball! The library at this school is a haven for bookworms! Every afternoon my child comes home with another tale to explore and it doesn't hurt to have such an amazing librarian! She's the best in the district! If not the entire state! The teachers are so kind and helpful I couldn't wish for a better education for my child to recieve! I can't think of a better education than what is presented here! WHES is a model for every elementary school and this fine institution of learning is my home! Go bulldogs! Woof! Bark! Howl!!!!

Mrs. Benson is the best teacher ever! My kid was fortunate to have had Mrs. Benson in third grade and then again in grade 5. So glad to have been a part of the WHES community of learners!
