Utterly disgusted with the lack of compassion or concern for students situations.

This school was an answer to my prayers. My son was struggling , and not doing well in school. His anxiety was so bad he hated school ! I was able to get him into this school and the Administration has a wonderful program for students like him . He gets the help he needs and his grades have improved drastically !!! He loves school now!!! I am so thankful for Ms. Burnett and all the teachers at Gentian !!

This school has a daily 'color' chart through which each childs behavior is monitored throughout the day. There is a positive to this system, if your child is an angel, however my child is at an age where she/he brings home a 'bad' color every other day. while speaking with my child regarding the chart, she/he said that it makes her/him feel not good when I review the daily color. My child is not a bad student, yet feels that she/he is. I encourage my child to aim for the top 'good' color, but since she/he is mot meeting the expectation, I believe my child feels that although she/he tries their best, it's not an effective way to send the student home each day. My child has also expressed that the cafeteria employees do not like her/him, and feels the teachers assistant also displays a dislike behavior towards her/him. If it were not so late in the school year I would move her/him into a different School.
