This school has little to no parent engagement. Most of the teachers don’t seem to care much about grades or students turning in assignments. My daughter has been there for two years and not once have I been contacted about grades or behavior good or bad. Unless it’s an extreme event such as a fight. I wouldn’t suggest sending kids to long leaf. The entire public schooling in this state horrible.

Longleaf middle is, in my opinion, the best middle school in the area. Every morning when I walk in to school, teachers greet me with a simple "good morning", and even though I'm sure they do that for every student, it helps me start my day with a positive attitude. The teachers are all incredibly kind and intelligent, and always help me when I have bad grades. They truly understand that despite my bad grades, I really do have potential. They have helped me bring up my grades all year. The school lunches could use a little work, but that's the case for any public school. Their safety procedures during CoViD-19 are keeping the students safe, and are very effective. I haven't heard of any outbreaks in the school thus far. Each student gets a personalized learning experience, as the teachers care about each of their students. For me, the teachers were glad to tutor me during the week. I'm happy to say this is the best middle school I've ever attended.

The overall experience at LMS has been terrible. We are pulling our child out of that school

It is an advanced school. They are equipped with needed necessities and more. They have occasional activities that are fun and interesting most of the time. There are really good teachers there but they are some awful ones. It's my first year here after a private school and I think it is really good I just don't like the students though but nobody likes everyone. You should try it.

This school has been the worst my kids have ever been to. From the bullying to the education. No support for children who struggle, all they do is push them thru with credit recovery or summer school.

I realize that there are some complaints on this site. So I had to give my opinion because I disagree. I was worried about sending my child to middle school. She has had a great experience at this school. The teachers are helpful and there if you need them. The administration is great even though this is a newer school.

This school was seemingly average with a lot of racism towards all groups *not just blacks* and homophobia. I am not sending my second child here because my first daughter hated it and the teachers were overall pretty distant with a few here and there being decent. If your kid wants to exceed please do not send them to this school. The Zoobot program is alright but you have to be in the "inner circle" to get the benefits. My daughter's schedule filled up so she could not take the classes 7th and 8th grade year.

My daughter attends this school and for the last two i have not been impressed. My daughter gets pushed along and no one helps her I have asked for help but getting a conference with anyone is nearly impossible. She is very shy and unique in her own way. She had one teacher last year that called her name wrong all year I even had to step in and tell her off. Read the comments you will see the students cant even spell that should tell its own story of the school.

Longleaf Middle School is a great school with phenomenal teachers. The ZooBot magnet program has teachers that truly care about their students and want them to be successful learners for life. They also just became a whole school magnet with a STEAM focus. Looking forward to seeing what this next year has in store for this wonderful school.
