Bullying is rampant at this school, and there is no social-emotional learning curriculum. The kids are absolutely wretched to one another and the school does nothing about it, preferring that the kids “work it out among themselves. Additionally, If you’re not a stay at home parent steer clear. Working moms not welcome - they expect full time involvement from parents and it’s just not conducive for parents who work full time. While the school is great for those who “fit the mold” anyone else is promptly excluded. I’m glad we switched schooled, always felt the school was too high risk for a bullied student to bring a weapon from their parents arsenal at home.

Immaculate Conception School in Columbia IL is a wonderful place for our children. The faculty provides strong classroom guidance and creates situations to maximize daily learning experiences. With fantastic leadership from the principal and spiritual enlightenment from the pastoral staff, our children receive a well-rounded education that is second to none. In this environment, the ICS community is preparing future leaders with a focus beyond academics. These children will become compassionate leaders who put others first to improve the communities around them. These leaders will be examples for future generations by donating their Time, Talent, and Treasure for all of Columbia IL.
