We've been at this school since 2017 and I couldn't be happier with the progress my boys have made. Especially my second who is non-verbal autistic and now my fourth who has Apraxia. The teachers are absolutely amazing. So involved and caring. I have always felt included and welcomed into the planning for my boys education. I love this school and have fought to keep my boys in McAuliffe. I would recommend this school to any and everyone and have several times. Go Comets!!!

For 2 years I had my children at this school, and I am in disbelief about the way that it has changed for the negative!! I have been extremely disappointed, especially with my child's 3rd grade experience!! I would suggest NOT placing your child in this school if you can help it!!

This is the worst school EVER!! I would never recommend anyone send there child here. My child was bullied the hole time attending this school to the point my child’s grades dropped drastically and was physically ill M-F the teachers are just as bad as the students when it comes to bullying and mistreating the children the principal’s don’t not do anything when you call and tell them what’s going on. The lunchroom is a mess they only set out a few tables for the kids to eat on they are literally shoulder to shoulder while eating and the staff take smoke breaks right by the park where the kids can see and smell the smoke all I can say is I HIGHLY recommended you take your kid to a different school. Hope this helps anyone who cares about there children’s future.

I rate my experience at this school is 100% positive! There is no other school in the city I would choose to take my child because this one is amazing. My children enjoy going to school each day, feel safe, and excel in their learning environments.

The principal is wonderful and that is about it. We are military and moved here a year ago and it has definitely been a rough transition for my kids going to this school. A lot of the kids at this school are rough and the school doesn't enforce no bullying. They say they do, but they don't! A lot of the teachers seem more frustrated to be teaching here then enjoying it. I've seen them yelling at students several times. There is a lack of control, Which is understandable when there is 30 students to one teacher and no aids. Academically they are not that great either, and if a kid is struggling you won't find out until the report card comes! I asked the teacher on a regular basis how my kids were doing, the answer was always good, but then when the report card comes it appears otherwise. Huge Lack of communication. If you have an opportunity to send your child elsewhere I would highly recommend doing so.

We have been at McAuliffe for 3 years now. My son has done 3rd, 4th and 5th gr and my daughter started K and now 1st grade there, so we have experience almost every grade at this school. I am very pleased with the teachers we have had, the principal is always very wonderful and attentive to my questions and concerns! We will miss McAuliffe greatly next year!

My Daughter has attended this school for 3+ years, and she's improved in all areas significantly. That and the culturally diverse mix of students has really helped her socially too. I have thought about getting her in a charter school because she's gifted, but as long as I keep seeing great results, she'll continue to go to McAuliffe. All of her teachers have been excellent, to include Ms. Brown, Ms. Youngberg, and Ms. Wade. She also loves her music teacher, Mr. Lensko. Keep up the great work!

My daughter (child #3 out of 4) attended kindergarten at this school. She's very bright, and I was concerned that she wouldn't be challenged. However, her teacher, Ms Fuller, was able to accomodate the differences between the entering kindergarteners that didn't yet know their alphabet, to the ones who were reading Harry Potter. And the same held true for math. I was VERY pleased with my daughter's experience academically. We're now at a '10' school since we moved across town, and yes, with a higher median income there are more volunteers and higher PTA involvement. But even with more activities and extra-curricular opportunities, I miss the general atmosphere at Mcauliffe where students were individuals, rather than a cookie-cutter score-generators. I NEVER felt that McAuliffe teachers were 'teaching-to-the-test' in order to raise/keep scores on aggregate data sites. One piece of advice: if you are in town while looking for a school, find out when the school has its School Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting. This is when you hear the behind-the-scenes info on what's happening at the school; these are MUCH more useful than PTA meetings to get to know a school.

This school is not perfect but it should have a higher score. I had a 4th grade boy going there this past school year and he loved it and never missed a day. His teacher was excellent. Colorado's revised method of evaluation shows that McAulliffe kids are making more rapid progress on a yearly basis than nearby schools and more importantly the gap between minority kids and caucasion kids has closed for reading, and girls are doing as well as boys in math. The students are diverse from an air force base to middle class homes to a large trailer park and apartment complexes. They have art, music, sports, computer class and a good library. The building is about 5 years old.and is a bit crowded already but does not have any modular classrooms. Requires a simple uniform. Sends home information and provides automatic calls on a regular basis. Staff is accessible. See the website for more.

I have to say that compared to when I first started research where to send my kids to school, McAuliffe have improved dramatically! I couldn't be happier to have sent my girl at this school for her education. I was prepared to send her elsewhere, drive and/or pay in order to give her a good education. But I am so glad I gave McAuliffe a chance. The principal is awesome, the staff - all of it - from teachers to the ladies working at the office, is absolutely great. I'm always put me at ease, they welcome each and everyone who walks through the door with a big smile on their faces. I decided to volunteer to make sure I could be comfortable sending my child there and... well, I fell in love with the school even more. I love the library and all the staff that works there. My daughter's teacher is amazing. I don't have not even ONE single negative word for this school! Too bad we're military and not all my kids will have the luck to attend this one! The PTA is great too and very much involved. I don't know if testing have improved, having a first grader, but I'm sure this school keeps getting better! To conclude, my daughter LOVES to go to school and is doing absolutely great!

have notice that those who have a problem with this school hold the belief that their kid is simply a kid and should not be corrected but others should. My son has started his Kindergarten year at this school and I could not ask for a better bunch of teachers. They try to make the student act responsible for their actions and inform the parents of the wrong doing of their child. I belief if more parents would be active parents their would be less problems with the children. This is a great school

I am a parent with high expectations so much that I would pay for one of the local private schools so that my 2 children would get the best education they could. Luckily I don't have to pay for private school, McAuliffe has a very dedicated and responsible staff, if there is a problem than every effort is taken to fix it. Children are treated fairly and equally, in fact they are awarded for positive deeds. The principal is more involved than others I've experienced. She does not just disciplines but she gets to know the students in a friendly way. My children are learning and making friends.

McAuliffe Elementary has an amazing staff. Their office staff in particular is amazing!!!! I have from the minute I walked into that office to register, felt right at home. Not only that, but the ladies in the office were able to enforce policies set in place for safety and prevent a student from being kidnapped!! WOW!!! They don't mess around with our kids safety and that gives me that much more sense of security when I send my kids off in the morning!

My son also has been through 4 lunch boxes, he said where taken from alittle girl, he has also came home with out his sweater on several occasion. But the teachers and staff are not responsible for anything. Even though we are telling them what has been going on. I will be pulling my son from this school.. Due to bulling and the teachers and staff not being able to do anything about it. I will find a school that will.

Not impressed with this school. His teacher is immature and I feel the principal is also unreasonable. My kids will not be going to this school again! I have more than one problem with how this school handles issues with the kids. It sad when you kids ask you to put a recorder in his pocket to see how he is really treated.
