Moving is rough and it took my kids a good month to settle in to the change. Since then they have found their niches. Classes and teachers are much more effective in preparing my children for college than their previous school. It is being remodeled to keep up with modern education and safety needs. The community is supportive of the school and activities. Kids are welcome to join any sport, club, or activity. The school highly supports music and the arts. Teachers and administration make themselves available for one on one conferences. If students share feelings and thoughts about current events or personal struggles, they are listened to by teachers and administration.

I had two children attend Colfax schools. We moved here in the middle of their elementary years and we were pleased at how they were accepted into the school and by their peers. One child was challenged, the other not as much, but both went on to transition into college with little trouble. I would say, as in any school, some teachers were better than others at teaching, but I strongly believe most of them cared about the kids, and that is important. My children were well prepared for their adult life.

This school is a major part of this special town. As a parent with a student in the district I can say I am so thankful for Colfax High School. Small schools are great places and the more you invest into them the more you get out of it! Thankful to the teachers here who care about my son and have worked with me to shape his education to help him succeed. There are many groups and things to get involved in here and the key to getting connected is being involved just like life.

As a freshman who has been going to Colfax since Kindergarten I can say that I could not imagine a better school. Most of my educational career I had high marks but starting my 7th grade year I started to fall behind and my A's and B's turned to C's and D's all of my teachers (Especially Mrs.Landers) were more than willing to stay after school with me and help me get back on track. These teachers truly care about their students and take the time to know them on a more personal level. I don't think I'd be the 4.0 student I am today if I didn't have the support of my teachers in the transition period of Junior High to High School. I'm very sad my family just moved because I would love to finish off my High Schooling at CHS. Now being at a much bigger school I realize how much I took for granted an amazing School like Colfax High School.
