Special needs kids have teachers that arnt trained in special education. Like they told me it's not required for them. So just place any teacher from a reg class and move into special need education seems like the thing they do without training nor patience for it.

My child went to this school K-1, had the same teacher both years. He was behind. There was very little communication. The teacher was too busy with other activities to work with children who needed more attention. The teacher clearly had favorites that received more attention. I moved to a better school where my child has received the required attention to get him FAR closer to grade level. Unfortunately, it is a possibility that my child may be held back because he was so far behind from being at this school.

This school has poor leadership and it is reflected in the staff. There is low moral across the board. I went to the office one day and was behind a para and saw her jerking a special needs student's arm and saying horrible things to him. There are several specials teachers that have NO business being around children at all. There are good teachers but they don't have the support or resources they need. The school refused to test my daughter for learning deficiencies even after it was requested by myself and her teacher. Once we tested her privately, we learned she had a learning disorder and were able to get her the support she needed, again privately. We pulled out kids from this school because they couldn't or simply wouldn't help our children reach their full potential.

Over all I would give it two stars. While both my kids teachers seemed to care about the kids, Only one of the teachers Miss Town was effective in teaching kids to read. I have pulled our kids from this school for several reasons. Poor teacher performance is first, lack of action taken by Principle after we raised concerns numerous times. Security in school is lacking. Talked about lack of security and it did not go well. Over all appearance of school, my daughter says it looks gunky. Grass is all weeds. palm trees never trimmed, paint fading.

We are very happy at TWE. The class sizes are small and the majority of the teachers are enthusiastic and effective. The school has excellent communication with parents.

I absolutely love the school. The teachers are great. Mrs Agami, Mrs LO Scott, Mrs Meselsohn and Mrs Cummings so far have been a dream come true. I love the activities they have for them. The pick up line is a little long however if you are there early you zip right through.

I have had an absolutely wonderful experience here. We have had amazing teachers and have developed a good relationship with the administration. Any concerns are promptly addressed. The school is locked at all times, you have to call to be let in the door to go through security to get to the main office. The communication is excellent from both teachers and admin (text, remind app, emails, and robocalls). I always know what is going on inside the building. I cannot say enough about the school and staff.

5 stars. My kids have received stellar education here. My daughter had straight A's k through 5. She is at Lyons Creek in 7th with a 4.0 gpa taking high school credit classes. My son is in 4th in gifted high achievers class with straight A's. Thank you to all of the great teachers who helped them achieve their goals.

Unfortunately the only Leadership you will find at this school is through the teachers. From the Administration, there is NONE. There is zero communication from the principal, vice-principal, and when you email them Good Luck waiting for a response. You will get none. There is no security at this school. Gates unlocked, doors unlocked. You may get lucky and your child will get a responsible teacher with great integrity, spirit, and the will to learn.

Thankfully, my children are self sufficient. If my child was a poor performer, that child would not get the attention needed. There is NO accountability from the administration and the security of the school is a joke. The main doors are not locked during the day and there is a "courtesy desk" at the main entrance staffed by one person. My children signed up for an after-school club and the teacher for the club never shows up or lets the parents know the club will not meet. Communication from the school is horrible. If you are lucky and get a good teacher, your child will do great. However, there are teachers that fail their students and there is no accountability from the administration. The majority of the kids at Tradewinds are good students and require little help, thankfully. However, if your child does not fall into this category, the school will fail your child.

No front office. Just a desk at the entrence. Did not ID me when I picked my child up the first time. Not enough playtime outside for students. In aftercare they on go out for 20minutes than right back inside. Children should be playing outside. Not sitting in a classroom again playing in there. Kids are obese. They need to be outside playing.

This is our fourth year at Tradewinds. Kindergarten and first grade was an amazing experience with Ms. Manners. She raises the bar for being a great teacher to a very hard to beat level. Although there has been some changes, last year was also good. We absolutely love the school, and would recommend it. Of course, some teachers are better than others, but we are yet to meet an unhappy parent at Tradewinds.

We had the opportunity to have our second grader reassigned to Tradewinds. His home school wasn't meeting the needs of our son and we had received exemplary reviews about Tradewinds. As a parent who was schooled in New York, I have been very skeptical of Florida's education system until now. Tradewinds, Mrs. Stevens (his amazing teacher) and the staff at Tradewinds exceeded my expectations. Mad minutes where my second grader became a whiz at multiplication, the hands on field trips which he learned so much from and the overall environment at Tradewinds makes this one of the top schools in Florida, Public or Private. They don't teach to a test but prepare your children for the future. My son is looking forward to third grade with Mrs. Stevens. She's made him excited to go to school and learn. My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher and school.
