There are school lunch fights and harrassment everywhere

The student services is trash. This school is definitely not safe for many students. You will get in trouble for doordashing and dress codes, but they will turn a blind eye if you get sexually harassed (from my experience), or bullied. Teachers and workers all have student bias too, so it’s bad. The bullying has gotten so bad its not uncommon for a school fight at lunch anymore.

My Daughter goes to Buchanan High and she loves it. She came from private school and this is her second year there. Teachers seem caring and helpful towards the students. I would recommend this school.

I went to this school for 2 years as well as its connecting adjacent schools (Garfield and Alta Sierra). Buchanan was an ok school. As far as the learning programs, super great. They give you lots of options for AP or advanced classes and an overwhelming amount of options for extra curricular activities. As far as the learning goes, its actually decent. I would never have a hard time doing the work in class and it was always a breeze. However, they put too much on the workload at home. Every day would be like writing an essay. The teachers all think they are the only class handing out work, but don't realize that the kids have 7 other periods to worry about as well. Not to mention alot of them have internalized issues and sometimes they take it out on the kids. Many of the students there are racist and ignorant as well. Almost everyone at that school is fake or puts on a facade, it's very rare to find someone that won't talk behind your back. The school lunches are also not that great. I would always rather starve myself than eat those lunches and that's exactly what I did since I never had time to pack a lunch, due to the first class being so early in the morning. Everyone overall gets super burnt out and tired really quickly and your mental health starts to rapidly drop. There have been many many times where I've broken down in tears from how much the school doesn't care about your health. They really only care about their school scores and reputation.

Amazing and positive experience in academics, athletics and all social interactions. The Clovis school district is one of the top districts in the state of Calif and is highly competitive in the nation for academic excellence. Go Clovis !!

I am currently a junior at Buchanan and I am really happy and thankful that I go to a school that is know for so much, such as sports, music, and the robotics team. It's a great feeling to know that I attend one of the top rated schools in the nation when I comes to academics and safety of staff and the student body. This is why I would recommend Buchanan over any other high school around. Not only that, the bell schedule can be convenient for students because every day is a block day (Except Mondays which are all periods) allowing more teaching time and more time for you to get work done for whatever class.Great School with guaranteed success! I am proud to be a Bear!

As a parent, I am very pleased with both the academic and religious education that my kids receive at Valley Crescent. I am also planning to enroll my daughter at the school next year inshallah.
