I was a student there. I was often picked on and the staff did nothing about it. Specifically my 8th grade year, I was feeling very sad and anxious. I began seeing the guidance counselor at least 2-3 times a week and told her how I felt. She then proceeded to blame my depression on my brother, who had been moved overseas because he’s in the army. I explained to her that I already felt this way for 2 years at that point, but she didn’t listen to me. I was also having panic attacks daily because I have social anxiety, and when I went to the nurse she would either immediately send me back to class, or call my dad. They wouldn’t let me leave early because I would “miss too much school” even though I barely missed any days to begin with. I would tell the nurse I couldn’t breathe and I needed to sit down, but she’d use something to measure my oxygen intake and said “you’re breathing just fine. Go back to class.” So every single day I had to sit through 7 hours of panic attacks, feeling alone, and having bad thoughts because the staff didn’t do anything. All they did was threaten to fail me and make me retake 8th grade if my dad took me home early for feeling anxious and unsafe. The teachers there barely taught anything. They’d give us work, a textbook if we were lucky, and sit at their desk for the rest of class. If they DID get up and teach, it was only a presentation that we had to take notes for. We had to comprehend it on our own, and most teachers got mad if we said we didn’t understand because they “just went over it”. In 7th grade, my science teacher yelled at me in front of the entire class for “never doing my work” when I turned in ONE assignment a day late because I was sick. That same teacher yelled at me for someone else using my project in their name and turning it in. She also fussed at me for crying in the bathroom when I was supposed to be in class, even though I had a note from my teacher saying I could have time for myself to calm down. Another teacher yelled at me for using a small brush to fix my hair in the back of the classroom at the end of the day, 5 minutes before the bell rang. I wasn’t distracting anyone until she yelled at me and singled me out, yet the girls on the basketball team could do whatever they wanted because that teacher was also the coach. The staff there doesn’t care about their students and it shows. Kids were constantly yelled at for the smallest things, and mental health was very overlooked.

I have nothing but great wonderful things to say about Clover Middle school, my son is in High School now 9th grade in a different state and he is way ahead of 10th graders, he has all honors and some classes he is the only fresman and straight A's with hardly no work just because he have already seen everything in Clover Middle school, he wishes and I do as well he would have gone to Clover High. Staff from is wonderful as well.
