When students cannot thrive anywhere else, there's Gerson. Whether your child struggles with severe ADHD, debilitating anxiety, or some other form of failure-to-thrive, Gerson gives them a chance to work toward graduation when a traditional school just can't accommodate their needs. This school isn't going to present an academic challenge for a gifted student, but its holistic focus on mental health, emotional safety, and small class sizes will allow kids to grow in comfort at their own pace. If the classical educational model isn't working for your child, check it out.

I am a current student at Eleanor gerson high school. This school is an embarrassment to REAL alternative schools. It started off as a great school when I came 4 years ago and wouldn't want to be at any other school. But now the school has lost what it was opened for. It has become a PEP type setting. It's a sad reality to why it changed. It was about money. But what about the students. IEP's are no longer followed. There are no teachers anymore that are specifically trained for our special needs like there used to be. The director of the school isn't helping keep what is right but is rather destroying the schools good name. I would highly advise reconsider going to this school.
