My child currently goes to Clay Elementary and we have had a lot of concerns with my child’s safety and overall lack of communication from the school as a whole. There are no real security measures in place protecting the kids from anyone being able to easily enter the front entrance of the school. All main foot traffic, the gym, and cafeteria is housed in the main building while the primary building is in a separate building; requiring all of the youngest children of the school to exit and enter through several doors and walk the furthest to make it to and from their classrooms. Substitute bus drivers come and go without any notice. There is no defined or established route of communication and some information is only shared via certain routes. I have to constantly monitor the school fb page, the PTA fb page, my teacher’s app, my email, my child’s paper communication folders, and my phone voice messaging to piece together everything in hopes I won’t miss events, dress up days, field trips, fund raisers.. etc. I have expressed my concerns and frustrations with lack of communication without response or follow up from the administration. I am considering several life changing options to be able to place my child in another school as soon as possible.

I love how friendly the teachers and staff are. I went to clay my whole life and to see my children also go there was a tremendous blessing. Clay is NOT one of those entitlement schools. You will NOT get special treatment for any reason. Being a part of the school was a blast as a room mother and a PTA. It's great to see teachers that have a heart for teaching. Mrs. Rosemary at the front desk is a peach! Treat her nice, she can help get you info when your in a pinch. We will definitely miss Clay when we move over the summer.

My son attended Clay Elementary from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. He "graduated" last year and will be attending CCMS. We had a great experience with most all of the teachers, the office staff, and the other parents and children. All but one year, I felt that the teachers truly care for my child and that he was given the best education possible. We will certainly miss CES this upcoming school year!

This my son's first year at Clay Elementary. He is in the second grade in Mrs. Heather Youngkins. SHE IS AWESOME!!!! I will admit I was a little nervous coming to the school since my son was in a smaller private school setting his first few years of school however, she has lived up to ALL of the accolades that parents, teachers and administrators have given her and he is having a WONDERFUL time!!! GO Mrs. Youngkins Yaks!!
