Claxton Elementary is the absolute worst school my child has attended. There is little to no diversity within the teaching staff, and it has always been this way. The majority of the students who are minorities do not get the opportunity to learn from teachers that look like them. There are a plethora of overly qualified, and exceptionally gifted minority teachers that are not selected to teach there. The principal has done a poor job of seeing to it that the virtual students receive a top education, as well as socialization while students and parents both deal with the new normal from Covid-19. I have spent hundreds of dollars to ensure that my child does not fall behind. Additionally, there's no way that the virtual school aka PLP platform can work without the full guidance and instruction of the parent/guardian. If you have another option to send your child to a better school, do so!

The principal wont return phone calls when u are trying to figure out why u gotta go pick ur kids up from having lice but yet they stick them back in their class if they can send them back to class then in my eyes they can stay u try to explain that ti the principal and he says he dont understand what u are trying to say. Sounds like to me they need to get a more educated principal that can comprehend stuff theres a 2nd grade teacher that wouldnt let my child go on a field trip because of the way she acts. (She is special needs) the nurse calls and tell me my child has nits/bugs and go get their head checked straight from leaving the school and they are clean. Its just one thing after another. That school has a very select few teachers that are good but they definitely need a new principal

Some good teachers but overall a terrible school. Don't move here! Other surrounding counties are much better academically and less crowded. This school no longer offers music or art. Kids are treated poorly and forced to wear uniforms. The school is understaffed and the principle speaks poorly and is a terrible example for students.
