I would not recommend sending your kids to this school. Phoenix is a horrible school, students fight every single day the principal doesn’t do anything about it. The kids here are bullies and the teachers don’t do anything to prevent it. The school is very dirty, the kids don’t do anything, no special’s barely recess, and they eat in there classroom. All they do is sit in the classroom it’s like a prison. Some of the teachers are scared of the kids. THIS SCHOOL IS OUT OF CONTROL AND NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!

I go to this school currently and it's been the worst experience of my life. Staff is rude and doesn't really teach, Teachers hit and threaten students for no reason, they hire anybody that has a degree but doesn't look for a background (felons and gang related people), And also shows favorites towards other students because of either their parents, they went here for years, or because they're family with staff. Since Dr.Brown left, the school has been falling down ever since.

I taught at this school for a few months in the early 2000s, and I just saw an advertisement on television, which reminded me of my experience there. Frankly, I was shocked that this school is still in business. When I taught there, we were given access to no textbooks at all. Our lessons were not permitted to be longer than 10 minutes long. Our classes contained students of varying ages and grade levels. There was a complete lack of structure and discipline. When I brought a student to the assistant principal for open defiance, she yelled at the student for 5 minutes at the top of her lungs, and then sent her back to class. The administration cared more about whether the students were wearing uniforms and whether they could stand at attention and recite a ridiculous school pledge than they cared about whether anyone was learning anything. The miserable statistics are no surprise to me. I left this school because it would have been unethical for me to continue to be a part of what is going on there. If you care about your children, please do not send them here.

Teaches are overworked and underpaid. Teachers expected to put in extra, unpaid time. Classrooms are out of control. Leaders are controlling and condescending to the staff and plan unnecessary professional development that is a waste of their time. Years ago when I worked there they planned a MANDATORY 2 week summer training beginning the first day of summer to discuss common core. If you didn't come, you didn't have a job. No sub coverage so unqualified teachers are covering classrooms. So much time is spent focusing on non curriculum items. Leaders have ONE thing in mind and that is MONEY. This place is a zoo and needs investigated by the state immediately. I truly don't have one good thing to say.

Both my boys have been attending PCLC since grade K I like the school a lot but at the same time they show a lot of favoritism with some students and staff members because most of them are related. The teachers need to have some diversity training because a lot of them are white and they are clueless as to how to handle working in a urban school. I also think they "pad"numbers when it comes to test scores. Since its a uniform school they sometimes have school function s where the children can come in street clothes if they pay money which I feel is totally unfair because a lot of parents don't have money to pay therefore most children are excluded from participating they do this with field trips as well. Overall its OK. There still is a lot of room for improvement.

Anyone who tells you that this school is wonderful either works there or is not involved with their child's education. My son started kindergarten there in September and it has been nothing but problems. They encourage parent involvement but resist it when a parent wants to get involved. Teachers do not want to have conferences with parents and my child keeps getting hurt and for some reason the teacher never sees it when it happens. It's so frustrating as a single parent who works full time that I'm making a bold decision to pull my child out of kindergarten and let him restart at the age of six. If you truly care for your child's education do not send them to this school. They window dressing is wonderful but once you allow your child to attend you will find out that you made a horrible mistake.

This school needs investigated by state.Unprofessional behavior of the staff.Children with IEP not getting services met.Food served to children is horrible.Classroom ratio not being met.Safety an issue fights everyday between students and some children attacking staff. No security at all.Students practice fire drill only. Other schools do many other safety in the event of tornadoes, lock down etc.I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL HORRIBLE.

Several unqualified teachers i.e. uncertified, Librarians, CDL bus drivers, children of staff members, family -nepotism, nurses serving as teachers and lunch help, teachers placed in wrong assignment for their certificate, teachers doing double and triple duty. Staff is overworked - driven like slaves in an unsympathetic teaching environment. I hope they can get it together. 12 teachers quit or left, 5 in one class. Some have not been replaced ergo the double and triple duty plus tutor for free and work overtime and do afterschool and in-school DT. Monitoring of unidentified children drains some teachers in the primary grades so much its impossible to teach. I know two incidents where te students hit or assaulted the teacher on purpose but never even got suspended. Most teachers won't tell you the truth about the school. I pray they try to do better with children starting today.

This is school is ok, they give alot of projects for K grade, which the kids can't even read or write yet so the parents end up doing the project , so if you are a two income family and you don't really have time to do alot of projects and homework with your child, stay away from this school. I really which they would just teach my child how to read and write and add instead of all of this homework he/she bring home every night. My children came from a different school district that didn't believe in alot of homework and my son learned way more and they are the top district in Cincinnati, Ohio. I think PCLC needs to rethink so things.

This school is not what the commercial advertised on the radio. They have large classes and tutoring classes are large also not the one-on-one or small session. My son is supposed to be getting IEP, I feel that he is not getting all that the school said and most of the children are out of control. We are good parents who are involved in our son's education but not getting good reviews with this school. We do not care for this school anymore.

I have had my kids in his school for two years now and it has been nothing but problems. My son is in the first grade and I have had to go to the school on many different occasions. He was once playing with his tie and the teacher took it and threw it away, second he was talking in line and she got upset and threw a crayon at him. I had a meeting with the principle, superintendent and teacher and in that meeting she admitted her wrongs and that was it. Would you really want your child in this school??? My kids come home with 9-12 pages of homework a day the teachers bullies on the kids. My 4th grade child is behind on her reading level.

I cannot believe the negative things I am reading here. All of my children have gone to this school since it opened and I am amazed and elated at the growth and individualized attention my children have all received. They have all become better thinkers, and humans because of this school and all of the wonderful educators in it. This school encourages and teaches parents and students alike.
