My kiddo has grown so much over these last four years and Gem Prep still challenges her in ways to help her grow. With admin and teacher adjustments, we become happier every year. I have loved watching this school grow and add new things yearly.

There pick up system wastes hours each week of the parents. They make them stare at screens all day because the teachers don't want to actually teach, and the administration is the cause of all of it.

I went to school here for my 11th and 12th grade year, they gave me the opportunity to take several college classes at no cost to me and they helped me find scholarships and grants to pursue my private Pilots license, which I completed. If you're doing well in your classes you get a lot of flexibility, I was able to work a job and take college credits and do flight school all while in high school because of Gem Prep's help. I'm not aware of any other high school where you could do all those things while still in school. They really put me in the driver seat of my education, which really goes a long way because I got to make a lot of decisions about what days I wanted to fly and when I wanted to do college classes alongside having the time to work a job.

I went to Gem Prep Pocatello in 7th and 8th grade, and now go to a public high school. There are only a couple good things I can think of about this school: it gets you set up for highschool in middle school and set up for college in high school; and you sorta know everyone because it's a realativly small community. There are many things that I disliked. There's not many sports opportunities. There aren't any in-person elective classes, they are all online through IDLA. While having online elective classes can be less of a hassle, for many including myself it's a lot easier to learn in person. Another thing I dislike about GPP is the lack of communication between Admin and Staff. This was incredibly frustrating during my time there because only about half the people knew what was going on when we would have activities. I loved the teachers that I had at GPP, but they all quit because they disliked how things were done there. Personally I would never choose go to back to GPP.

Gem prep has been sooooo good to with with! I have a child that has behavioral needs and the staff has been very supportive!

We have been at the school for almost two years now. I have noticed such an improvement in my oldest daughter who started out at a public school. She has improved drastically in math and reading. They do so much more to help teach them it seems. She is enjoying reading so much more now as well. Both of my girls have loved their teachers both years they have attended. The principal and assistant principal are absolutely fantastic and take time to talk to you about any issues you may have and will work to find a solution quickly. They are out greeting students every morning and helping with pickup every afternoon. It is so nice to see how the kids are just as excited to see them as they are to see the kids.

We have been at GemPrep Pocatello for 5 years. We moved there from district because I have a son that needed something different. The teachers and staff took the time to listen to my concerns and helped me help him. He has grown so much. I have 3 children at the school and they all love it and the teachers. I love that I can be involved with their day at the school volunteering. The school days are longer and the work is more demanding than the district and I honestly was going to pull them but my kids said absolutely not. They love the challenge and they don’t mind the longer days. My 1st grader was able to walk up to second grade for ELA and he loved it. It made him want to work harder so he could walk up again next year. I love how the school adapts to each kid and they don’t treat them as on shoe fits all.

The school partners with parents, working together toward the success of each student. The school has a very "open door" policy and parents are always welcome on campus. The school has a very high parent participation rate, along with an active PTO and parent advisory committee that meets regularly with the principal and staff.

You don't know how awesome your school's principal is until you have a kid who is in trouble. My second child has been in trouble a lot this year because he is curious and messes with things (like expensive computers) until he breaks them. There have been several other instances as well, in which I was sure my son would be expelled, or at least, that he would be labeled a "bad kid" and face a reputation that would force me to remove him from the school. But Principal Gerald Love lives up to his name; he truly loves his students. Recently, he had to dish out some hard consequences for my first grader. But then he looked my son in the eyes and said, "This doesn't change our relationship. I still think you're an awesome kid! You are smart and creative. But you've been making some bad choices, and we need to deal with those." My heart almost burst. It has been so difficult knowing what to do to help my son. I appreciate, beyond words, the patience and fairness that this school, his teacher, and his principal have shown. They believe in every child.
