The staff at Howard Cattle is amazing. Mr Buss, the principal, communicates really well with parents and he is super involved on campus. I always see him around campus interacting with students and he is at every school event. Both my kids had wonderful teachers this year who communicated frequently and worked hard on behalf of the students. Math and reading are taught very well at this school. The science curriculum is weak, but that is the district's fault, not the schools. The PFA puts on a lot of events throughout the year that allow parents to come on campus and interact with their kids and other families. The school really values community and is working hard to rebuild after the crazy pandemic years. Office staff is really kind and really helpful. We moved over the summer and they were super helpful explaining everything I needed to do to get my kids started at a new school.Lastly, the campus itself is really nice. Its a newer school, everything is up to date and clean. It is also fully gated, which calms some of fears about a violent act happening from an outsider.

My daughter is in the TK program and is a reader with high self confidence. She loves her school and her teacher. My first grade son begged us to never change his school because he loves it so much! The principal has really had a positive affect on the students and families. They could definitely have more activities for their students but they are doing the best they can with the resources they have!!

My daughter just started TK in Howard Cattle. Mrs. Spicer is awesome. The lessons and projects she prepared for the kids are much better than the private preschool my daughter attended. You can tell the care and thoughts she puts behind ...This is beyond my expectation. My son transferred from OPA to this school. He is adjusting and started to make new friends. I do prepare extra Math and Language work books for him to do beside homework he gets from school. We are hopefully for him to finish grades school at Howard Cattle. The office staff have been very helpful every time I called or stopped by.

This school has no fairness at all in giving out awards. My daughter was devastated and demoralized, instead of lifting up their confidence and molding them to become the best person they can be, they just did the opposite. The staff are rude, unfriendly and unapproachable. We had the worst experience at Howard Cattle, I feel sad for my child she had to experience this.

There is such a terrible lack of information for this school! The school website is horrible as far as providing any info. If you call to ask a question, the office staff are rude and short with you. It appears as though there are no activities for the children such as band, clubs, or sports. Edwin Rhodes elementary which is down the block offers much better opportunities! Many activities to choose from, updated website and their academics are amazing. I have heard nothing but great reviews about Rhodes and would send my child there. Howard Cattle has no transparency as far as what it has to offer academically / activity wise. I would not send my child to Cattle, as it seems to have bad reviews and low test scores for a reason.

My grandson attends this school. He has been called the N word 3 times on 3 different occasions and the staff did not do anything about it. They had an excuse each time that no one else heard it. I honestly believe that there is a race issue at Howard Cattle.
